Quoted from NorCalRealtor:

Are you saying Homo Use Only? LOL

I haven't heard that in so long it took me a beat to figure out what he meant.

But what if I sent off the legs to get powder coated? Am I screwed?

As long as they haven’t ever touched the game before that, you’re good. If not, sorry pal your shit’s worthless.

Nope, just a douche

Or even[quoted image]

High-heel use only?

Dabbling in the restoration realm of the hobby I think I can get on board with where this is going. To help resale values I motion for a new acronym:

HUOATPFSFCPR(OHTA)

Home Use Only After The Play Field Swap From Classic Pinball Restorations (Or Hard Top Application)

I think it rolls off the tongue fine in casual conversation and would justify some of these examples’ prices on the back end.

Troll gotta troll! Is there an “entire population of Pinside missed the sarcasm” emoji?

If I put my huo pinball machine near the back door of my house, and stuck my butt outside and play a game, is it still huo?

What a retarded question. If you are the ONLY owner, yes. If it EVER belonged to anyone but you, no.

LMAO

Home Use Outside

Reminds me of that Home full of cats Use Only game they kept on the patio I once acquired. It had a certain odor about it.

Well, if you had the LOO and then took them off to get power coated, you still have a LOO game.....Just don't put the legs back on after getting them back from being coated or you will be stuck with a nasty old legs on twice game (I was going to call it a LOT game, but beings such a lowly turd....that doesn't even deserve an acronym. You might as well call it a POS at that point). Because, keep in mind, a LOO game is still a LOO game (and super sweet), until the legs go back on. Best to sell it as a LOO game (to get prime dollar) and let the sucker of a buyer get stuck with the legs on twice game when they set it up.

Quoted from too-many-pins:

The crazy thing is even a HEP restored machine isn't HUO once he is done with it yet I don't know anyone who wouldn't prefer a HEP restored machine over a HUO pin. HUO is likely the MOST overused phrase on pinball forums!

Just wanted to introduce myself to you as the first person you now know that would prefer a HUO or even a beautiful original over any quality restoration including one done by HEP. Beautiful originals are scarce, incredibly hard to find, have a story/history associated with them, and cannot be created. Originality is paramount...only so many exist. Any pin, if you have the skill set or money, can be made to look brand new. Restored pins, although works of art and craftsmanship, just aren’t nearly as special as something that survived after all these years looking “almost” brand new. It’s not even close for me...just my personal preference.

Paid kids first allowance last week in quarters. Pretty sure they were circulated.
If several drop into my brand new pin, are my coin mechs still HUO?
