Best thing to do there is the "doors off" helicopter tour. Last time I was there was when the big earthquake happened in Japan. We were staying on the north side of the island - first to get hit. Kauai actually has a standard Tsunami Warning system much like the tornado warnings at home. We spent the night in a house up on a hill. That beach is very dark at night. Turned out the tsunami wasn't nothing but it did rearrange the beach some. Unforgettable vacation!
