    You could create some smallish bolas. They would probably only be effective with small game or when your kid tries to sprint down the aisle of a department store.

    Made a shooter knob. Saw a game at a show with one and really wanted same but haven't seen any from the usual vendors.

    Ground a flat spot and the center punch made a healthy dent. HSS bits and plenty of oil after that.

    Used a bingo ball just to be weird.

    What would you do you inhibit rust? They'd need powdercoat or something to keep the ball from rusting from hands / etc.
