Recruitment of noobs is highly encouraged in this hobby, although his MO may be a little off.
If you have games at home, the best way to get your non pinhead friends hooked is to invite them over regularly. Once or twice a year won't do it. For the first shindig, keep it simple. Top 3 scores on MM get prizes. Don't divulge the prizes beforehand. They'll go for it.
