    Hi there
I am new in the club
I asked in a german pinball forum for an ICB and 2 days later I bought one from a coin op ... unbelievable fast, unbelievable story. Also the price was very fair
The game doesnt start from the beginning, I figured out that the fuseholder for the main fuse was faulty. I bridged it and ... the game worked. New fuseholder is ordered .The motors moved, the CPU booted ... as usual the rubbers are completely crumbled. Cabinet is not perfect but okay. Backglas was in great shape .. until I tried to clean it and destroywed some areas. Bad luck .. I already ordered a new one. I have one of the rare games with ticket dispenser and prepared for the German market. No import.
Even the power pcb and transformers are working I ordered a powersupply as a hack. For ROS and import reasons I bought one here in Europe and not from arcadeshop with the perfectz pcb on it.
The tool for smoother control from gbgaming in the UK is also ordered.

    Questions:
Is there a batterie on the main pcb ? Should it be changed ?

I bought silikone rubber for the motors but I have to connect its ends. Does the motor drive the rubberband only in a specific range up and down or will it turn completely over ? Meaning ... the glue point to connect both ends , will it move over the rolls or not ?!

    Cheers
    Tom

The Taito are in Germany around 2500 EURO , the ICE versions .. never saw one in Europe ....

    Lets say it this way:
My ICB came with the rubbers like .. spaghetti ... they break immediately after touching them ..
The whole rest of the game is still the original stuff. After nearly 40 years my ICB runs like build yesterday. So the chance you will need this part: Zero .. but nice to have !!

I would be intrested .. he should look for a partner in Europe selling this .. shipping would kill me ....

Then again ... they do wear. Haven’t seen one pristine ICB pf yet.

Mhh ... think this is a beauty.

BTW: In Germany a ICB is for sale for 3500 EURO, exact the ammount of money I bought 10 years ago a MM for

Strange .. checked my pictures but I do not see this red colored harnesses !!
They are looking like power lines, not lower voltages. I am missing the ticket suspenser , but this get also only low voltages.

Thanks for the pics! You have a shot of your J3 wires? The google one is pretty good I couldn’t find that but if you could would be great thanks again!

Why do not buy a powersupply with adapter and you dont have all this work with the old transformer ?!

I have the "free-play"-ROMs working well in my machine.
The attract mode is still available. If in attract mode someone pusehs a stick , the machine moves a ball right up until it fells in the first hole.

    here the read.me text

Free Play hack v1.2 for Ice Cold Beer
    by Pat Daderko (DogP)

Included in this zip is a free play hack for Ice Cold Beer. This is an updated version with attract mode, and added code from Mark Jenison
to blink the start button as well.

There are two ROMs included: fp.bin is the standard free play, fp_mad.bin is a ROM with manual attract disabled. Manual attract mode puts the
ball on the bar and moves it up into a hole when someone presses the joystick during attract mode. There is a DIP switch to adjust how often
it can occur, but no way to completely disable it. So the fp_mad.bin ROM disables it.

Manual attract can be annoying if someone moves the joystick before pressing start, and has to wait for the sequence to complete before being
able to start the game. There is also an automatic attract mode, which does the same sequence (based on time, rather than someone moving the
joystick), which can be disabled through DIP SW3 #1.

Chip U24 (2764 EPROM) is required for this hack. This ROM is for free play only... there is no adjustment to switch between coin operated and
    free play.

As always, use at your own risk... it seems to work fine for me, but I can't be held responsible for any consequences of your use.

So you just need someone with a burner.

If in need of motors I woule rebuild the complete driveunit with a belt system. For the price of 2 motors you should get everything for a new beltdrive and it would become a miuch better feeling I think.

    #276 4 years ago

Never just start / plug in a unknown game ....
Mostly the belts are broken or missing, the transformer unit needs some checking and rebuild.
There is a fuse on the power section, check this fuse. IOn my game the fuseholder was broken, so the game could not work but I checked this before. Also swapped the transformer unit for a power supply. Also clean and wax the playfield and get a new ball.
The pcb should still work and also wiring will not brake. The motors shopuld be cleaned, old lubrication is often like glue.

Have fun with your ICB and ... never start a unknown game

    Looks good !

On my game was the fuseholder broken ... did you check if 120 Volts come to the new transformer ? Is the light working ? There is also a switch under the cabinett !

I had it on my game, but it is sold already. In Europe every second game had the dispenser I guess.

    Quoted from Witnee:

I'm going the SuperCheap route. Everything off the shelf.
I started with a piece of 3/4" plywood. Added an Arduino, some 3d printed parts, some Neopixels, a couple of DC gear motors and a controller, an MP3 player board and I'm playing for a LOT less than $3k!!!

    Great work !
Will you share your knowledge, files, etc ?!
I sold my ICB years ago, was fun but too less fun for too much money. So a build from the scrtatch would be great to "safe" the big cabinett.
Instead a "wallhanger" would be perfect.

Great success on this project, again my question:
Will you share the code / informations how to build a bar version ?

    Thanks

Has anybody an idea how many Zekes and how many ICB are out in this world ?

In Germany I know just from 1 Zekes in an arcade collection.
ICB are many many more out , so I know about around 20 in the pinball community.

Zekes were made for the US market due to the beer theme, in Europe we have not so many problems to let kid play on a machine with a beer mug on. I guess therefor most Zekes are in the US.

I can not find any propper information on the internet.

I am also looking for the blue "mountain background" from a Zekes as a scan, good picture ....

    #769 1 year ago

The control panel looks like ICB
I am sure the sideart is also ICB ... so we can swap: i make you a very nice ICB "playfield" and we swap with your Zeke "playfield".

Can you help me out and make some very good pictures from the board or, better, a scan ?
Here I can also swap this pictures / scans with a ICB file.

    Quoted from thepinballworks:

Anyone have a Zeke’s glass for sale? I have a playfield. Then I can put one together.
    [quoted image]

I could help out and send a repro glas to him.
If someone is intrested: I have Zeke´s glasses for sale. They are made out of plexiglas/acrylic 5mm. The print is digital, all areas are printed white from the back.
Colors are okay. At least it is a repro from my original Zeke´s glas. It is better than nothing , thats for sure.

The price is 175 EURO plus shipping.
    Pictures will follow
