Sounds like a bug in the Free Play ROM or maybe bad Eprom. Where did you get it?

The ROM has worked in every other game just fine.
This is a mechanical issue vs a software/switch issue.
A mechanical issue which makes the music selectively go away and the score not to tally?
Sounds like a PCB or EPROM issue to me.
