Hi all- I have a fully restored ICB, and one thing is annoying me:
There is an occasional slight squeal in the right motor, although it works fine. I also have 2 replacement motors- one seems fine, but the other has a squeal as well. Has anyone opened up the actual motor case to try to lubricate?

Also, what is the verdict on the current Marco motors? Are they equivalent?

    #608 2 years ago

A new company is reproducing the taito version of ICB it looks pretty identical and they claim retail price will be 5k.

for $5k I think it should have some extra settings or features from the original. I would just buy an original for $3k or so.

WOW, I bet this will create some interest! Whilst the original will always be desirable. For someone wanting a brand new machine, I'm sure this will sell well. I'd buy one. Might even sell my original if this version stacks up.

Arcade bars will buy up a bunch of them. ICB actually earns pretty well in the right locations.

Looking for a Ice Cold Beer for my personal game room.

Located in Austin, Texas - willing to travel larger distance to pick-up in person.
Willing to pay fairly. PM me.

Game Terminal in Nashville has 3 on the floor and a fourth in the shop as backup. The 3 on the floor stay busy with a line of people waiting.

Hey guys, updates will be here:
    Retroarcaderemake.com

The new ICBs and Zekes peak will play and look exactly like the original. New art is being produced based on the originals and will be a marked improvement to some current offerings and will be compatible with original machines.

The basic idea is a fpga emulation of the original system, with stepper motor control, better designed but original style joysticks (keeping leafs just improving pivots), and Bluetooth for both updates to code as well as the ability to link games. They will start at 4995. We will not be producing retrofit kits, and while we do expect the originals to maintain value, I think people will become more interested when they see what the new systems can and will do (we are extremely excited by head to head play) These are fully licensed by Taito with the first batch planned for around April 1.

This is really cool. I love my original ICB and Zekes but happy for those who can now own these classics.

Great news, just to clarify: will the drive motors and belts be compatible to the original?

What value fuses are used in this game? The manual has two different values for F5 (3A, or 1.5A SB), and two different values for F4 (2A or 2.5A). Are any slo-blo?

    Thanks

    Hello Pinball & ICB Fans...

I have an ICB (plus new side art not installed) that I've owned for about 20+ years. It's an amazing game... but honestly, I'm more into pinball.

I'll throw this out for anyone who may be interested in contacting me... I'd consider trading my ICB plus cash from me, for your CCr LE position.

    Let me know.
    Thanks!

Just picked an ICB with what seems to be a common issue. Haven't been able to find the solution anywhere though. The upkicker that kicks the ball back into play isn't powerful to get the ball all the way back up. The coil is original to the game. Anyone have a fix? Thanks!

    #629 2 years ago

I'd check the voltage at the coil to make sure it's right. Not sure offhand what it's supposed to be (my guess would be 12v).
Follow the wires and make sure all those connections are tight (it's a fairly simple game compared to a pin, so that shouldn't be too much of a task).
    Coil sleeve good? Piston smooth?
Check the coil to make sure it reads correctly, possibly just replace it.
If none of that is wrong, i'd guess change the transistor associated with the coil.

On another note, i'd like to trade out my icb for a pin on my wish list plus or minus cash.
Open to other good titles i haven't owned.
I don't mind projects as long as they are valued like projects.
Located within miles of six flags great adventure in NJ.

Update seems there was a service bulletin for this exact problem. Going to try the fix listed, will report back if it worked. Service bulletin attached for any future folks looking in the future.

My ICB plays fine ... but the lights for the holes and the stars don't work. I have to remember what hole I'm on. Been dragging my feet on sending my CPU out for diag/repair, but I'm actually not sure it's the CPU. Any ideas?

I am working on mine right now. If you get stuck, send the board to me. I repair these for people all the time. My cost is very reasonable..

Thanks, will do. I’m looking to verify everything else before I give up. I “think” all the voltages checked out last time I went over the power supply.

How many companies are going to be doing remakes? This thing is ugly imo.

Yes. This makes me think that some will love the idea of a new game, but plenty of folks will still favor the original. Kinda like the refake pins
I don't get why they put the lights above the target holes, looks "off".

Either way at $7500 it may increase the value of the original.

People will soon see the original will be in bigger demand after this release. I agree w/ the Pin remakes. I love what Rick is doing w/ them but i will stay w/ my original bally/williams. So are you saying the remake ICD are 7500??

I just picked up original ICB, nothing is going to replace the original, the sounds of the belts and the clicking of the switches! Love it

Who has more info on the new reproduction ICB's being made? I thought I read April 1st somewhere? Also that other company making knock offs-I kinda like the golf version one. Still looking for my $2500-$2700 OG ICB and holding my breath-not sure you can tell but I am blue in the face.
