Wow! Looks awesome. Definitely got effective use of the licence and characters to meld into the game. Can't wait to play Friday at FPF! I might even try to slip over to IAAPA on Thursday if I get a chance. Both are great shows and together a reason to travel to Florida.

Title has JJP Pirates in it....was that there?? Lol

Yeah much more buzz on GOTG. Pirates I look forward to playing but zero chance I will buy one.

Quoted from Rob_G:

Another problem with buying an unfinished game is that the initial poor code state may ruin your ownership experience which no code updates will remedy.
Rob

But JJP never has poor code?

Quoted from Whysnow:

Have they ever shipped a game with poor code?

Shipping the first couple a year or more behind schedule may have helped get the software further along...

Filming without a press pass is technically not allowed at IAAPA unless you're under special circumstances (guest of a exhibitor or the show). It just happens that it's not always strictly enforced. There have been a few videos of GOTG, but not a flood of them.

I've always taken video of everything at IAAPA. Never had a problem. They just don't want people to see the Alpha software.

Here is a video I made in 2012 using an actual video camera instead of a phone. Great show by the way.

WOZ had alpha software in 2012 - you can see it in the video above the inserts were in attract mode during gameplay. Was not a big deal at all because every knew they would be working on it.

The games from IAAPA are being set up at Free Play Florida. Videos will certainly be taken here.

How is the music and sounds?
Every video I watch I seem to hear the same main song over and over.

The game is beautiful to look at overall. Software is too early to say how the music and sound are. It will get a lot better for sure. That upper playfield is really cool.

Just played some games on GOTG Pro. Stern didn't bring the Premium to FPF. Pro is still lots of fun. To me those ramps are magically smooth and flowing like the ball is flying. Would not have worked nearly as well for this theme in metal. The display software looks great with tons of clips from the movies. The sound was not turned up loud enough to make a judgement on the callouts, but I did hear the songs. POTC volume is turned up to ear splitting levels for some dumb reason, so it sounded awful just now when I played. The upper playfield is really cool and I was able to control the ball up there pretty well. Its kind of confusing the way the ball disappears sometimes and also it seems like it pauses when you lose the ball to let you mash the lock bar button enough times to collect all the gold and stuff you built up? One thing I noticed in a fairly long game was that there is constantly a "Gold!" call-out that drove me crazy. As I walked away someone said they hope they fix that soon. The super loud volume surely made it worse than it shouid have been I suppose.

Underside of game is a thing of Beauty !!
Glad to see Subways continuing to be in JJP games.
It will be interesting to see how they integrate the Camera on this one.

At least they got all the control boards out of the base of the cabinet and into the head where they belong. Definitely a lot of unique node boards in this game, but does make for cleaner wiring. Why a camera? Sheesh, am I the only one that doesn't want cameras facing the player in my games? That would be the first thing I disable (or point permanently at a picture of a middle finger).
