Husband and I went 2 years ago, and are headed back to Florida this Saturday for a week of Disney, IAAPA, and Free Play Florida. I've been looking on the IAAPA website and can't seem to locate anything about the cheaper Thurs/Fri passes, so though I'd check to see if anyone knows anything about it.

We'll be at IAAPA on Thurs and possibly Friday morning, then Free Play on Fri evening only since we've got to hit the road very early Sat morning for a 10 hour drive back home in time to feed the dogs. Who else is going to either event?

This was the thread from 2 years ago listing the cheaper info, plus some pictures/info for those that aren't familiar with IAAPA.

I will be there as always. I don't know what they are doing for Thurs/Fri. Bought my full tickets months ago. Hope to see you again.

I will be exhibiting at IAAPA for the3rd year in a row(booth 6118, stop by and say hello). It is an awesome show. I am all out of free tickets, but I would suggest contacting other exhibitors(especially if you have done any business with them) and seeing if they have any tickets left.

My brother and I will be there.
We always have one of our vendors get us passes. Never had a problem.
We will also be at the Orlando Pinball show for 1 day then we have to head out as well.

    #6 8 years ago

    Yup, M.

$59 Thurs, and $39 Friday at the door...I think Thurs price is 2 days.

I owe you and Rob a call....sorry about slacking....but we were thinking of Friday, before dinner Cocktails, or after at Freeplay....

Any thoughts on that or your schedules....?

As of right now, we are basically planning on IAAPA and Free Play to take all of Thurs and Fri somehow or another. So meeting either of those days is fine. Not sure what we are planning for Sun-Wed since we're not sure how hubby's head will be. Hopefully the migraine meds work this time and he's not miserable all week.

Been slacking too Art, trying to get everything done for Freeplay before I leave for IAAPA on Sunday.

Monday is full with IAAPA events from sunrise till after sunset for me. Tuesday and Wednesday I'll be on the floor all day, free after closing. Thursday I have an IAAPA event in the evening till around midnight then it is probably straight over to Freeplay. Friday on I will be at Freeplay all weekend but will be able to get away now and then. Got some good after hours stuff at FPF this year too.

    #11 8 years ago

I'll be going as well.. solo trip for me! Where is this Freeplay place?

might be neat to meet up with some of you other so-called pinheads out there!

Here is my IAAPA video from two years ago:

Free Play Florida is timed back to back with IAAPA on purpose:

Well, unless something changes...I would imagine most leaving IAPPA Friday, will grab a bite before heading to Freeplay....so Friday night is likely best.
I am sure it will be OK with Mick and Leon, to have a pinside sign up.
The only question is the time....???

CapitolAuctions, Arcade, mikepin, and anyone else posting on, I hope to say hello, and meet!

If anyone has any questions, needs any help etc....Just let myself or any Florida person..
and wed be happy to try....

No... he wanted too... just to many commitments up north right now. But I'll drink enough for both of us!

I will look forward to playing a few games and watching you relax at a show for once. I always have a bottle of Patron ready to go.

Might want to ask Leon. I doubt Mick knows what Pinside is.

I second this. Maybe someone could take some nice video with their iPhone & post to YouTube

    #25 8 years ago

We will make sure to take it with the phone near the speaker of another machine and with smudges on the lens. Then we can give you some non descript reactions such as "it is fun".

We are headed to IAAPA now. If you see a tall chick with a blonde ponytail wearing a Pinside shirt and Pinside lanyard/badge... there's a chance it is me.

This post is worthless without pics

Think I will try and come up Fri night from Miami to do a couple hours of qualifying and drive back down that night!

Well that would make it too easy. So far Oldpinguy/Art and MustangPaul found me, but then again I had dinner with them last night so they know what I look like.

Here are some pin pics. Headed to Hobbit now.

I got a great pic of the new play field but pinside doesn't support the iPhone uploading pics anymore. It was nice to see the book has an LCD monitor in it now. I also like the new cabinet art. I posted my pics on our Gulf Coast Pinball Club facebook page.

Are we going to try and have a meet and greet tomorrow?

    #34 8 years ago

Hard to believe this, but I just found out my mother and her husband are there for the non-pinball related content. I couldn't believe it. She said they were going to Orlando but I thought for vacation but instead it is to check out entertainment for their Kids Choice business. Ha, dang I wish I was there. Told her to check out the pinball booths and take pictures.
