I have a playfield protector on my Bon Voyage playfield and it has been on there for about 6 months. The playfield is in rough shape, but I did touch-ups and basic life support to keep it looking as nice as possible. The protector has been a great move for this machine, in my opinion. There are few drawbacks, but overall I am very happy.

I cleaned all my machines today. I was not sure what I wanted to do with the playfield protector. I decided to lightly wax it with a quick coat of wax (I use P21S) and not go crazy. I was surprised at the amount of dirt that transferred to my microfiber cloth. Compared to the machines on either side that have the same amount of play and no protectors (one an EM from the same era and one early SS), I was surprised to see the difference on the cloth. Not sure if that means the protector is saving the coil dust from going into the playfield or if it is just happenstance. I thought I would share the info.
