Did you get a warped or chipped playfield? Did stern or (lol good luck) jjp give you a bare playfield and now you'll be damned if you are willing or able to swap it yourself?

I may be regretting this decision, but I am going to offer to swap the playfield for you until further notice. All I ask is the old playfield in exchange and 100 dollars. I would offer it for free, but it can get upwards of 40 hours to do depending on the complexity of the machine.

I don't wish to mess around with shipping. This would be a fairly local service I am offering. And yeah, I want to keep the old playfield. Think of it as payment, in part, for the hassle of doing so.

Disclaimer: I'm pretty damn good at doing this, but I cannot warrant my work from any defects. I don't mean to scare you with this last paragraph, and not a whole bunch can really go wrong, but I want to be clear that if something starts chipping again, do NOT look at me to blame. There is also the issue of over clear and having to make some small drillings, on occasion, to get the parts to fit back onto the new playfield.

So, if interested, pm me. Name is Steve and I just wanna help some of you that got hosed that cannot or will not do it yourself.

I’m not sure what others will say. But I think this is a killer deal. Thanks for stepping forward.

    You should move to Montana.

And this is a crazy good deal / offer, imo.

This is a smoking offer! I have done many of these and I will not even go them for friends...just too time consuming honestly

I remember the World Cup Soccer 94 you did. That turned out very nice!! Good guy alert...

    What a deal!

Wow! What an offer. Very nice deal for the community. Thank you.

So allow me to clarify to whom I wish to serve. I've recieved some requests, but mostly those looking for restores of old machines. My services are to stern or jjp people that have new blank playfields on their new machines that simply need parts swapped over from one playfield to the other. I dont wish to do Bally Williams because that's more a restore and not "help me be made whole again." Also, Bally William's pop bumpers need new light lleads installed. Another guy asked if I was going to replace light fixtures. One day maybe I will offer a broader range, but not for 100 bucks. Lol.

Tldr: this is a service I wish to offer for people to have their brand new games actually new and whole. Not to make money.

This is a real nice offer that’s likely going to end in tears and a nasty thread.

    Just a hunch!

Could go sideways any number of ways, but “I swapped his playfield for 100 bucks and then 2 weeks later he sold it for money!” Or “he scratched my brand new playfield!” Come to mind.

    Good luck for all involved!

I'm bumping this for people that have been screwed over by lady luck. I listened to kaneda's podcast and he had someone on saying "I don't know what that would cost.... 2000 dollars?"

Offer still stands. 100 dollars and your old playfield is my "payment." Must be playfields that you've been given to replace but you simply haven't the skills yourself to do on your own. I dont wish to mess with shipping. Drop it off and I'll have it done in a few weeks for you.

I'm OBVIOUSLY not doing this to make money. I only wish to help those in the community. And again: this is for warped or chipped playfield people only.

I have nothing snarky to say. Kudos.

Fantastic and generous offer Doctor6 if I could give you 100 thumbs up I would. It’s not an easy process. Best offer on pinside. You sir are an asset to the hobby

    #14 2 years ago

Holy shit man! What a generous offer! May the pin karma gods shine upon you.

Also, if you every decide to do regular old playfield swaps let me know. Not looking for a deal like this either btw.

I can't believe there was a two week break between posts. Jorant, good for your for offering this. I would totally drive from St. Louis to you if I was in this situation.

    #16 2 years ago

If JJP made high speed I’d be driving my game down to you right now.

Best wishes and hopefully this makes some people feel more positive. I can’t even imagine the undertakings of a JJP game. I hated doing TAFs when they first started making playfields for them.

Willing to consider moving to Finland??

OP, has anyone taken you up on your offer yet?

    #19 2 years ago

Not yet, however I'm in the midst of a playfield swap at the moment. Also, it looks like the playfield I bought is gonna take a century to get here.

I've had offers, but basically people wanting me to do semi restored for free. I'm not looking to restore (and certisnly not for free lol), but to help people that have gotten burned and have been given a playfield and no idea/desire/knowhow to do it themselves.

When I read your first post, I thought you were going to be buried in work and regret making the offer. Hard to believe you haven't had a taker yet.

Same. I guess the people complaining how they get just playfields and no way to do it themselves was overblown.

Surprise no one was interested, that worth $800 -$1000 depending on PLayfield.

It was good of you to offer.
