The ratings should be used as a single data point to generate interest and encourage people to seek out games they may have never played. If anyone is using a games ratings solely as the reason to buy a pin they are going to be disappointed eventually.
Sure you could use statistical measures to delay new pins and eliminate stupid outliers, but why bother eventually the averages will win.

Totally disagree, maybe that's why we need a page to keep track of opinions...

As i noted earlier, a repository to generate interest and seek out games I have never played. Opinions may differ and outliers are possible, but as a whole the better games will gravitate toward the top using ratings by the community.
After i play a pin several times I do make my own opinions and rate them accordingly.
