I agree 100% with Oldgoat, what type of driving do you prefer? For me the classic muscle cars give you that satisfaction of loud, car shaking rpm from V8, and the classic looks are hard to beat. My problem with some older muscle cars is most of them are whales and weigh a ton(not good for taking a corner at 50+mph etc.). They are great for doing burn-outs and trying to impress people, or re-capturing your youth, but not really that road worthy. Then you have a lot of the newer cars switching to paddle shifters(they do nothing for me). Then you have the electric cars that are fast as all get up but no fun to drive and feel like driving a fast golf cart. The Op joked about tuned out 4 cylinders and compare to a blender, but a well tuned 4 cylinder turbo with manual stick shift is the funnest car I ever owned. I also like the Nissan GT 6 cylinder turbo with manual shift, and the Ford Focus turbo, Honda Civic SE turbo, etc.(basically anything with a turbo and manual). Honestly the new WRX coming out will be worth the wait-and talk about bang for your buck-can't beat the value.

Again like Oldgoat stated-What kind of driving do you picture yourself doing? Cruising, car shows, mall crawling, or just zipping around town at top speeds and taking corners like you are on rails.

Also forgot to mention VW GTI-super fun car!

Coming soon to a dealer near you, less than 30K new with turbo and manual option. STI got delayed and will be another year or so...
