A couple that I didn’t see mentioned, that are generally overlooked, in your price range and fun all around.
Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 (spyder or coupe)
Decent handling and pretty quick.
Mazda RX8 (2009-up only, lower rear gear ratio, for better acceleration) very good handling car, but very low torque and you need to understand a rotary motor so you don’t foul it up.
Infinity G35 coupe gen3 (2002-2007) not fast (could be modified) but nice ride, 4 seats and handled ok.
Already mentioned, but always cool is a gen 2 or gen 3 Camaro or firebird.
To many awesome muscle cars to mention from 1964-1971 too, but generally not great handling and not super comfy. (I’ve owned and restored several).
