Quoted from stangbat:I tried a bill acceptor at my location on my most popular machine and it didn't make any difference. I have a change machine though, so that may affect the use of a bill acceptor. However, the claw machine in my location also has a bill acceptor and I watch people go to the change machine, put in a bill, then turn around to the claw machine and put in a dollar's worth of quarters. This happens probably 90%+ of the time. If my games were $1/play, a bill acceptor would make a ton of sense. But at my prices (50 cent/play), it doesn't seem to get used.
That being said, every location is different and if you can pick up an inexpensive bill acceptor, give it a try.
I love that I can go and play high quality, popular titles for 50 cents a play (2/75,3/1.00). I have a hard time putting a dollar into a machine to play when there are other quality options available. That is why I would never consider urinating in Stangbat's pinball machines, the claw machine though.....
