I'm actually looking for a barn cat. My wife's also allergic to cats, so it wont be allowed in the house, but our detached garage has a mouse and rat problem that I dont want to use poison to control. I'm going to find a nice big tomcat and make it a nice spot in the garage. Our neighborhood has a 2 other outdoor cats that live half a block away on either side, so I'll have to get him fixed. I finally got my wife to agree to a cat as long as she doesn't have to deal with it. We haven't told my daughter yet, and she'll be ecstatic when she finds out. They're plenty of farms local to us with free cats to a good home, so I dont need to import yours.

Good luck with finding a home for these two.

Quoted from Blackbeard:

When you adopt a cat or dog, it should be a commitment.

Years ago, when I was young, I grew up on a farm. Out in the country, it wouldn’t have been a stretch for a farmer to use the “22 cent solution”.

Times have changed, and I live in the city now. Opinions have changed and that would be considered “cruelty to animals”. Although the pound wouldn’t give them any better of a chance.

Anyone that is chastising the OP without personally offering to pick up the cats, should STFU, IMHO. He’s looking to do the best he can with his situation at this time. Telling the OP that you think he’s a bad person for making this decision doesn’t help at all.
