I need to have a small hobby vise to hold various parts for soldering, gluing, etc.

What do you guys use or recommend?

This is what I like for small tasks. You can pick one up for $5-$10 from many places.

I've found most "helping hands" tools to be useless. They flop around too much after using them a couple times since you can never get the screws tight enough to hold the weight.

I pretty much just use clamping forceps and polyimide tape at this point.

About the only thing worth 2 squirts is an actual circuit board holder.

    A panavice circuit board holder.

I snagged a used one off of ebay a while back--it's very handy.

You mean like drinking in excess and dating slutty women?

Never mind. I thought you said you needed a vice.

i have two of these from HF. I see what you mean by getting loose but I have had them for a while and use them often and they are still extremely useful

The other nice thing about the panavice is they have other "attachments"..They have one that's like a "regular" vice. etc.. I picked one up last year or 2 years ago on Ratshack's website. They were running a good sale.
