Stern, 2013So Stern just announced Star Trek is being remade. I, fortunately, have an LE, my first ever LE, I love it. OH wait, I get more code. The last one was Lucy. I always liked ACDC but loved Lucy, not enough to pay the big $$$$. I know the remake hurt the collector market, trust me I know, I'm in the middle of restoring a MB and a CC. 
I guess I'm just thrilled that code gets improved with remakes.
The newness and dependability of a remake are nice. . . but there is something to be valued with a quality original. Its kinda like the '70s Dodge Challenger and the 2017/8 model. I'd probably prefer a nice, original one of those.
And just to be clear, I do like turtles. . .

Are you talking about remakes or vault re runs? In my opinion, they are two different things.
It’s about time the secondary market started coming back down to reality. If remakes drop values of high dollar classic Bally Williams games, everyone should be happy. Lord knows the majority of owners never paid those high prices anyway so no real money is being “lost”. Same on the sterns...it’s silly the price people were asking on Luci or others. The re calibration of the market is overdue and necessary. The new code for these older games is icing on the cake!

I’m all for vaults and remakes. Prices on games has gone bonkers. Scared Stiff and Addams worth 7k now is nuts. Let’s not even talk about Tron prices

Bonkers is right. I have zero interest in paying $5k-$8k for B/W pins in need of restoration, especially with remake alternatives.

Me too, but unlike a classic car, Stern originals and their vaults are typically less than 10 years apart, have the same guts, and play the same.
Vault a classic Stern? That would be interesting regarding value vs original.
They are a double-edged sword. I am glad the Metallica vault came out as I was able to get a brand new Metallica at an affordable price and it is now one of my favorite games. I did buy an ACDC at the top of the market and so I am not so happy about the ACDC Vault from that perspective as I am now in over my head and will eventually have to trade it rather than actually see the dollars disappear
