Quoted from benheck:

How much do you all think the mini bowler added to the BOM? Could have easily removed it has no effect on the actual PF gameplay.

Yes, remove something that’s fun.

It’s part of the charm of the game!

Take TBL movie and cut out all scenes showing or discussing bowling. You end up with a 30 minute film called TLL. Never remove a physical assembly for a digital one.

Not very charming to be out of business and leave hundreds hanging.

Pretty sure the bowling mech isn't the reason for this mess. Leave it alone.

DC-area pinsiders, TBL the movie is having a short run at the AFI Silver Theater in Silver Spring starting tonight. It's not too far from MOM's Organic Market or VUK Bethesda if you want to make it a day of pinball.

Remove the flagship toy from the game? Um ok.

Another area of weakness of this game is the underside subway ramps. They are prone to breakage and bad spot welds.

Most of the problems of this game are due to parts being designed by non pinball experienced people unaware of unique problems of the physical stresses and vibrations caused by a pinball. Not sure if it could be avoided based on the limited experience of the manufacturer and sequenced outsourcing of various components.

A redesign of multiple areas remains required for increased durable reliability in commercial operation. Custom electronics were only a part of the problem.

That's not the straw that broke the camel's back

I think that the person who gave Kaneda the bogus information should man the hell up and take the credit (blame) for the rumors that went out. He shouldn't be the only person with his feet to the flames. How the hell does anyone confirm a rumor other than get it from a trusted source, especially since the manufacturers involved have disappeared into thin air?

yeah, plenty of people want to buy that person a beer for making a fool of him

Thats on Kaneda's head, his show, should do more fact checking first.

Oh yeah..
Remove the TZ mini playfield or Stewie Pinball playfield.. no big deal, game still plays fine.

omg it's not double G.

Quoted from soren:

The sad thing about this, is that the game absolutely rocks. In terms of the playfield, the game supersedes any pinball machine made in a loooooong time. All things considered. Shots layout, toys/mechs, build quality/attention to detail and graphics design. Sad sad sad indeed.
Plus this is the perfect! size, aspect ratio and placement of a pinball screen. They nailed that one too.
If anything gone wrong with the game itself, it is the under playfield bowling game. Looks to be too excessive cost to what it brings. Who ever from DP suggesting this to be an XXXX edition upgrade should have won that argument.
Still hoping.

I played it at the Texas Pinball Festival. It us an unbelievable game! Everyone who played it (that I heard anyway) was blown away...and the line was HUGE! I heard tons of comments. I talked with a few people about it, too...and the consensus was that it was awesome.

It’s all Bullshit ! Now the prices are going even higher

I thought this mess was started because the cost of making the games was too expensive? ARA raised the price, DP didn't want to pay, and here we are.

it is supposedly simple as that, the story is ARA raised the price twice.. the first one DP went along with, the second they refused. all while DP thought they had a firm fixed price contract. so.. lawyers

That WAS the story, but later on it just was:
DP just didn't pay ARA the machines delivered so far, so they kept the rest.

Even if the first story is true, that's only one part of the story. ARA may have fixed a price in contract, but as I remember the game was 2 years late in development, not on ARAs fault. So ARA had to set up a line and and have bunch of half finished games lieing around for two years, so of course they want a compensation for that. If the client can't deliver on his part I have to take my leave someday (with the money) or renegotiate.

Technical Development was ARA’s responsibility. DP just set the features, layout and artwork. That didn’t change a bit from Chicago 2014. ARA designed the hardware. So all delays are on ARA. They just didn’t assign the labourpower to the project as they were supposed to do according the contract.

So after the latest update that Barry sent out in the newsletter, why is no one talking about TBL!? It sounds like all the "rumors" are true, and they will get back to making games. He even goes as far as saying they have the license for TBL until the end of 2020.

Barry has said a lot of things that turned out to not be true, hopefully he can make something happen this time.. its hard to not be skeptical!

I'm not sure if this is serious or sarcasm.

Either way it's hilarious!
