A good question but I don't think it's a good comparison. I'm fairly new - I've always gotten good responses from good questions I have asked. But I may get less response on just topics where I'm not really in need of anything, than a seasoned pinsider may get. But comparing pinside to a chess website is not apples to apples. You spend much repair time on your chess sets? How many chess sets do you own? Are you in competition with thousands of others on purchasing specific new ones for your collection? This websites great, but certainly not perfect. Give it some time.
