A good question but I don't think it's a good comparison. I'm fairly new - I've always gotten good responses from good questions I have asked. But I may get less response on just topics where I'm not really in need of anything, than a seasoned pinsider may get. But comparing pinside to a chess website is not apples to apples. You spend much repair time on your chess sets? How many chess sets do you own? Are you in competition with thousands of others on purchasing specific new ones for your collection? This websites great, but certainly not perfect. Give it some time.

Its customary to offer vajazzlers in exchange for info on repair, maybe that is why? Not sure....
Im also a master baiter and that group is much nicer too.

I had a college intramural softball team called the master batters

My profile page has my name, my location, etc. - I think that's friendly

So yes, this website may be a little more intense than your chess one. But it's been a great information source for me and this wonderful hobby. Learn to use it to your advantage

I'm saying this just as a matter of fact - not being a wise ass - try doing some of the things suggested by pinside for new members, i.e. - on your profile page your name/location/collection/wishlist/game rankings/background story/ - you have offered none of this info about yourself. I'm not saying you should have to, but why not?
