Hi so I got my first new stern and I really love it. When should I wax it? Right away or do I wait until it shows some wear? Could you recommend some wax pleasr.
Also is there anything else I should do to help keep it in tip top condition?

A lot of people replace the Stern balls first thing. The Stern ones work but there are better quality ones. If you do replace them make sure they are carbon And not chrome. Chrome balks have issues with magnets.
Any pure carnuba wax will be fine. Won’t hurt anything if you do it on a brand new game. Don’t put on a lot of wax or it will be all in your posts, ect.
just clean the reachable sections of the playfield with Novus 1 (exclusively) after every 100 games or so, fix small issues as they appear (switch's out, bulbs go bad, loose posts and screws, cracked/misaligned/malfunctioning mechs) so you don't build yourself a laundry list of $h!t to fix all at once in a few years from now, play it and enjoy it. wax maybe once every 1000 games at most! better yet, wait until you shop it after about 10k games. any further maintenance is optional and usually overkill. have fun!

I think regular cleaning with Novus 1 is more important than waxing. Inspect your balls for nicks every few hundred games, wax, run through the tests for switches, lights, and solenoids.
EDIT: vid1900 has an excellent guide on cleaning and waxing- https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/cleaning-and-waxing-pinball-machines-vids-guide
Note that P21s is one of the “great pretenders” listed in vid1900 ’s guide: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/cleaning-and-waxing-pinball-machines-vids-guide/page/2#post-2657083
Their current label no longer claims to be 100% carnuba wax so yay?
I have no idea or care what their claims of %are. I just know it works on new and old games. And works well. Sinbad is 42 yrs old and shines and feels like glass. To each his own,,,,
Quoted from Butch2099:More important on Deadpool you need to put washers underneath the left ramp and right ball guide. Otherwise it will dig into the play field.

Butch2099 could you highlight the areas you're talking about? Not sure I understand where the washers need to go. TIA.
