What exactly the eff just happened here?
My guess is his dad had already had a conversation with a friend or other acquaintance about buying the machines, and decided to sell them once they came to a deal. But had also called you in case that didn't happen.
Not terribly out of the ordinary. But it is always fun to start threads saying how you got your time wasted.
