Quoted from bigehrl:

you just figured that out, did ya?

Seems that way when these two came piping in about my refusal to continue to be a sponsor at an event.

I will not sponsor an event where another sponsor is a disgusting human being.

Seems, They may perhaps be Colin's friends and he is running cover and banned me with a photoshopped image.

Damn.

You got kicked out of Houston arcade expo for using derogatory words at the event about someones sexual orientation, not because you refused to be a sponsor next year, lol.

Yes, I am indeed friends with Colin, it's a total conspiracy cause reasons I guess /s.

I heard about your ban yesterday and checked your facebook because I had also heard you were trying to slander Colin there as well and was curious what exactly you had said, and saw that meme in your feed at the time, though i wasn't told it was used as any justification. I just checked your facebook now it looks like you have since deleted the post, so sounds like you are yet again arguing something in bad faith. Just fyi, your facebook isn't private, anyone can see your post history with your current settings.

As far as i know, I have no reason to not let you in. as a matter of fact, I don't believe either I, or my business have anything to do with whatever's going on here. But then again, I'm not sure what the hell is going on here.

So wait now we are canceling Jackbar and canceling sponsorship at shows? And we got 6 dudes in this thread canceling Facebook?

WHEN WILL THIS CANCEL CULTURE MADNESS END!?!?!?!?!

In before the thread cancel

#110 2 years ago

CoCoNut's posts in this thread are more offensive than that meme. Like most things, the context is probably more important than that 1 single instance.

"That there are state registered child sex offenders in the Corpus Christi community that operate arcades?
Or that the furry community also operates an arcade? Because the furries have youtube videos with the arcade name in it and obviously have no issue with that." -here is you equivocating furries who use an arcade with registered sex offenders operating an arcade.

"I don't have an issue with furries, I have an issue with sexual offenders and sexual predators." -this doesn't actually mean much when there is a long history of discrimination based on associating queer people with sexual predation, and especially when you consider the type of policies currently attempting to be passed in Texas regarding LGBTQ rights.

These are massive red flags to me and probably a lot of other people.

Why are you trying to cancel dumpster fire memes? Another socialist trying to extinguish the flames of freedom?!?

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

This is really amazing stuff. I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter!

I don't get what you mean here. do you not believe we should enjoy freedom to disagree?

Quoted from grantopia:

It's always the "freedom of speech" crazies that don't actually know what it means. Always disappointing, but never unexpected. Ah well, carry on.

is it crazy to believe we should enjoy freedom to express opinions/beliefs without being attacked for such expression? the freedom of speech is actually explicitly provided for in the US constitution. to call someone "crazy" for citing a fundamental constitutional right and the free exercise of that right is a bad look. However, if you honestly believe that freedom to speak your opinions is a bad thing, and should be punished, then you might be better off moving to a country with no basic freedoms, such as freedom of speech, press, religion, sexuality, income, etc....

what is amazing to me is that many people who so fervently exercise their freedom to make their own opinions and life choices (religion, sexuality, etc...), which I agree with their right to do so, often vilify and attack others who are exercising the same freedoms, but don't express agreement with their beliefs and choices. At least I can dignify another's right to free speech and choice. You, on the other hand, are calling someone crazy for promoting the freedom to speak freely because you don't categorically agree with them. Note that I did not express my opinion on any subject at issue; I simply promoted the idea that we ought to be free to opine on topics without fear of repercussions and punishment, especially on a public forum like FB, instagram, or even here on pinside.

I know this is alot to contemplate, but it's worth considering. Imagine you were the one who didn't agree with the "mainstream" ideal. would you not feel like your rights were being stomped on if you expressed a different belief and were punished for it? reciprocity matters. You cannot have your cake and eat it too.

Wait, "**other** politically charged posts..." Were the Klingon Gloryhole memes also politically charged?

(And since we're talking about Klingons, I think Discovery has established that they should have "Gloryholes", plural. Otherwise, that would be painful. Which, well, being Klingon might actually... never mind.)

#130 2 years ago

Just so I'm understanding this right:

OP has said some nasty stuff about a person who operates in the Texas pinball community who is a sex offender (and coincidentally also a furry if that's relevant for whatever reason) and in doing so has some some extremely deplorable language that is generally consider grossly offensive.

TPF has since booted OP from the festival for his comments at a past event.

OP is now just continually trying to slander Colin and TPF in general and kind of doubling down on what OP sans vile language that was included in the original incident?

Just trying to keep track here.

The only corrections here are that he accused the operator of being a sex offender, they are not on the offender registry via a simple search. And he didn't get kicked out of TPF, he was banned from the IFPA tournaments only due to code of conduct, and decided to take organizers up on a refund and not go to TPF

Never happened. I have the msgs saved with k after the show where I said I would not be a sponsor/vendor if that other arcade was there next year.

I posted I am not going to TPF on the DFW page and they removed it after 2 minutes.

This is not slander, the photo was faked,

I was told you were kicked out for the derogatory words, if not then thats my mistake, but you did in fact use the words.

Also how is the photo faked? its on your facebook page still this very minute, post dated august 13, 2021. And regardless I don't think the meme is the actual issue here.

The arcade owned and operated by a sex offender is downtown corpus christi, not the one you are referring to.

There is a difference in ownership of the two.

I will not do buisness with either.

I think it has little to do with the meme and more all the other instances of comments, actions, messages you’ve sent people about tournaments, posts about IFPA etc.
I would take a guess that they just don’t like you for a number of reasons and found an easy out to remove you.
It wasn’t about the meme. It’s you.

Show me this. Most "attacks" against right wing people are in response to things right wing people do.

LGBTQ people just want to live their lives without being constantly harassed by right wingers who can't find anything better to do.

Quoted from HEAD_boss_HOG:

nowadays, if your opinion differs from what is now considered "mainstream ideology," you can and will be cancelled. it's a harsh reality, and all the "authorities" LOVE to flex on people who are otherwise speaking freely by cancelling them from anything they have the authority over (such as IFPA tournaments, events, jobs, etc...).
it's a pathetic state of affairs. If I don't agree with someone, I simply disagree. I don't share the disgusting urge that many of these "authorities" demonstrate to cancel someone and remove them from the public forum, event, or their job simply because I don't agree with them.
so much for freedom of speech. the new convention is "AGREE OR BE CANCELLED, UNEMPLOYED, AND EXILED!!!" So saith the powers that be, in every facet of our lives. anyone who would censor another's right to speak or cancel another person for offering their opinion is a disgusting, power hungry ideologue.

You have every right to express anything you want. And everyone has every right to respond how they want to whatever it is you said. If what you said is generally disgusting/racist/sexist/offensive, then private persons have every right to choose to take whatever action they want within the limits of the law. You don't get to whine and cry for your rights, then demand that others exercising their rights are in the wrong. If you don't want to be fired or generally shunned, don't be an asshole. Or, if you wanna be an asshole, take your medicine.

Quoted from Isochronic_Frost:

Bummer.
Furries and pinball have more in common than most think:
•Must spend obscene amounts of money of luxury items that have no practical function.
•Comprised mainly of man-children with too much money
•Endless measuring contests about who has what, which maker/manufacturer is THE BEST
•Obsessed with exclusivity and gets duped by people who take massive preorders and never ever deliver.
•The Public doesn’t understand the hobby and thinks they members are weird and waste all their money

False equivalency. Pinball is a fun game that anyone can enjoy. Furries are furries.

Man, that's some gaslighting and dense nonsense. If you don't agree with something that is so settled and accepted to be "mainstream," you have every right to say so. But how are your rights trampled when people that disagree with you exercise their right to disassociate or take rightful actions in response? You are falsely equating people reacting to your disgusting/offensive/contrarian words or opinion as violating some "right" you have to not be found disgusting/offensive/contrarian. And you further aren't accepting that this is a circular issue. You can do what you want, then they can do what they want. Lather, rinse, repeat. Your rights aren't stomped on. You just got called a dick, or got fired for being a dick. Yes, you have a right to be a dick. And yes, I have the right to not like you and exercise my rights, because you are a dick. What do you mean reciprocity matters? How much more yin and yang does it possibly get? Be a dick, get treated like a dick. Story over. YOU don't get to have your cake and eat it too.

Sexoffender is not in the pinball community afaik

Those are 2 separate people, not the same. Two separate arcades.

I did not say anything about a trans person being a trans person.

I did say anyone who says they want to turn all the boys into girls... is a disgusting thing to say

After speaking to another IFPA state rep, this is Only the TPF TD 's ban and is indefinite.

This apparently stems from the Houston Arcade show where I refused to be a sponsor if another arcade was sponsoring them.

Apparently I am an asshole.
