I don't get what you mean here. do you not believe we should enjoy freedom to disagree?
Quoted from grantopia:It's always the "freedom of speech" crazies that don't actually know what it means. Always disappointing, but never unexpected. Ah well, carry on.
is it crazy to believe we should enjoy freedom to express opinions/beliefs without being attacked for such expression? the freedom of speech is actually explicitly provided for in the US constitution. to call someone "crazy" for citing a fundamental constitutional right and the free exercise of that right is a bad look. However, if you honestly believe that freedom to speak your opinions is a bad thing, and should be punished, then you might be better off moving to a country with no basic freedoms, such as freedom of speech, press, religion, sexuality, income, etc....
what is amazing to me is that many people who so fervently exercise their freedom to make their own opinions and life choices (religion, sexuality, etc...), which I agree with their right to do so, often vilify and attack others who are exercising the same freedoms, but don't express agreement with their beliefs and choices. At least I can dignify another's right to free speech and choice. You, on the other hand, are calling someone crazy for promoting the freedom to speak freely because you don't categorically agree with them. Note that I did not express my opinion on any subject at issue; I simply promoted the idea that we ought to be free to opine on topics without fear of repercussions and punishment, especially on a public forum like FB, instagram, or even here on pinside.
I know this is alot to contemplate, but it's worth considering. Imagine you were the one who didn't agree with the "mainstream" ideal. would you not feel like your rights were being stomped on if you expressed a different belief and were punished for it? reciprocity matters. You cannot have your cake and eat it too.
