So tonight I installed my Shoot to Thrill Cannon mod from Pinball Refinery. I am sure there are 10+ threads on this, hence why I am hijacking my original unboxing thread. I'll just update this thread with mods as I go along.
So first, here are the contents of the mod: the cannon, some wiring, a black cover, and some new screws and zip ties.20150319_183242.jpg
First, you want to remove the cannon plastic. To do so, you utilize the diagnostics specifically for ACDC and energize the cannon motor all the way to the left.

Next, you take off the 5 screws that hold the plastic in place and gently pull it off.20150319_183916.jpg
From there, you fold and mold the included black cover so it will fit over the solenoid in a snug manner. Make sure you take off the two screws the hold the solenoid brack to the cannon bracket. If you're really gentle, the solenoid bracket will stay in place and aligned (basically, no need to keep the plunger pushed out).

From there, you carefully fit the cannon in place. Make sure the wood end of the cannon does not interfere with the right ramp. At first, you'll swear the wood piece won't clear, but it will - trust me.

From there, there are two screw holes that will align with the holes in the metal cannon launching wall. Utilize the new screws supplied in the kit. You can tighten them down all the way - just make sure the cannon does not scrape the right slingshot and it clears the right ramp.

Now, you have to find the Z-connector that supplies power to the right red flasher closest to the cannon. Once you find it, take out the original Z-connector.

Next, utilize the Z-connector with attached wiring that came in the kit. The wire colors are aligned specifically to match the wiring color of the factory wiring. In other words, line orange wires up with orange factory wires and the same for black wires.

Next, you want to route the wiring underneath the right slingshot. This is where you get creative as it is a very tight fit. Personally, I loosened and moved one of the slingshot lights out of the way. Then, once the end of the wiring was visible underneath the right slingshot plastic, I took a small hook and used it to "grab" the end of the wiring and bring it to me. I then routed it with the factory wiring and plugged it into the corresponding connector on the cannon. Once again, make sure the wiring colors match.
Then that is it - you are done!

This honestly looks 100x better than the stock plastic. The LEDs look awesome, and it looks really cool when the cannon lights up with all the lights in the room off.
I took a small video so you can see it in action. Enjoy!
