That is the same min size in Louisiana for commercial crabbing, 5" = 127 mm.
No min size for recreational crabbing in LA, but many people just throw back the little ones. 12 dozen per person per day rec limit.
When the crabbing is good here in S Louisiana, kids have a blast pulling up the traps and helping to catch them.
