    Dirty bastards!
Been catching heaps of monster blue manna crabs lately, this year the size is really big compared to normal.

Only the males are pretty blue, the females are dull and brown. Bit like humans.

    #16 4 years ago

    Love me some blue claws!
And a hammer head to boot. Nice!

Aw shucks, never knew about blue crabs.

    #17 4 years ago

Why are they called blue crabs? Seem pretty upbeat to me.

    Location? Maryland? Jersey?

Says Kalgan. I believe W. Australia.

That bit of halibut was good enough for Jehovah!

    #22 4 years ago

Hmmm. Blue crabs in Australia. Learned something new today. I thought they were exclusive to USA east coast. Thanks.

I was just quoting his location on pinside. I don’t want to be the one to start the huge crabs location debate. Lol But did catch this on google.

These appear to be quite a bit different than Maryland Blue Crabs. Claws are spindlier. Bodies WAY bluer.

    I bet they are tasty.

    #25 4 years ago

Maryland or Jersey blue claws don’t have the spots as seen in the above image. I certainly have never seen any of those kinds of fish in Barnegat Bay. They kind of look like a fish called oyster crackers because of their jaws and teeth.

That concludes today’s episode of Under the Sea.

    South coast of Western Australia.
Thought the metric measurements were a good clue and the flag of country of origin above every post is another good clue.

    Quoted from Daditude:

How do you cook them and serve them?

Most people boil them whole and eat them out of the shell. They are nice steamed or in a mild curry.

The one on the level is 80cm across the claws, will have to find one larger just to prove them wrong!

Hmmm, what you want me to bring my crabs with me or do you think that I might make a good hockey player?
Closest I have come to ice was smoking some.

Only very small ones have spots, as you can see all the large ones are solid blue.

I am in a dart team called the King river crabs, I have came up with a team song.
We're the king river crabs and we're out to nail ya
If we can't do that we'll latch on to your missus's genitalia!

I could be your team mascot, but I'm a pretty agro prick would probably get busted every week for bashing opposition fans and players.
On second thought I would fit right in!

Ok. Once I took a good look at the picture with the yard long level I see that it’s one big ass crab.

It’s a lot different from what I’m familiar. I’ll look closer next time.

    Happy crabbing!

Another blue creature, blue marron from the dam in my backyard. Standard colour is black but there is a few variations.

Way to go King-pin. Fresh seafood, yum!
That is the same min size in Louisiana for commercial crabbing, 5" = 127 mm.
No min size for recreational crabbing in LA, but many people just throw back the little ones. 12 dozen per person per day rec limit.

When the crabbing is good here in S Louisiana, kids have a blast pulling up the traps and helping to catch them.

    #40 4 years ago

I like them pickled in Vinegar Yummy!

    #41 4 years ago

From looking at your collection list king-pin, I see you have harvested a lot of 80's-90's Bally-Williams pinball machines from out in the wild.

Also noticed on your previously owned list that you did "catch and release" on a couple Data East pins.

    Nicely done!
My first pinball purchase was DE Tommy in 1999 for $800.Sold it a few years later for $4k.
Although all DE games feel different to play than B/W,more clunky and rigid feeling to me I actually didn't mind Tommy or LW3.
Damn, back to the confessional again!!!

    Dammit, I'm hungry now.

    Great pix! Thanks!

    Sticking with the blue theme,
    Blue ringed octopus.
One bite from that little sucker and it can be fatal!

    Beer can size.
If the crab is longer than the can it's a keeper!
