I’m going to pick up my complete set Sunday .It’s for a IMDN prem also .I came to Steve with a image in mind and he Fn Nailed It !.I always seen this color blue in stones that were used in jewelry and dye on statues in Ancient Egypt .I can’t wait to start wrapping up this project although I still have a ways to go .I’ll let Steve show off his works of art
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

ooh can’t wait to see!

#437 1 year ago
Quoted from Kkoss24:

Took the ride today and boy was I exited .Steve said it was the most pieces he’s ever done for a single pin .Just like I said ,“he nailed it “! Seeing it in person blew me away .Exactly what I was looking for .Had enough time to put the legs on .It’s going to be a busy week getting ready for Christmas and late hours at work ,but I’m off next week starting Sunday and can’t wait to …Slowly re assemble and deep clean everything .The unanimous house favorite is getting her “Full Monty” on .
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Hurry up and reassemble so we can see finished product! It is amazing! I used to think I had best IMDN powder coat I have ever seen (Illusion Rootbeer) but this just may top it! Congrats!!

So I have the powder bug and debating my original AFM (see voting post above!) otherwise I just got a CCr with standard chrome parts. I feel the chrome matches the guns and theme well though and not sure the gun metal gray is worth the change. whats everyone think?!

figure I’d come here to the powder junkies lol

#456 1 year ago
Quoted from HemiOrange09:

I have powder coated this machine in black, red, and green... If you get the right orange it would definite pop... Maybe something like this?
Otherwise a customer posted his AFM LE in a red that I did for him, which I think looks sweet and he was very happy with the results.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Thanks, Steve! The poll I did mostly shows support for being a purist and sticking with chrome…but guess what that’s super boring! Steve and crew what do you think about this? UV glow reactive neon green with gold/silver flakes? I think I’m in love.

Here we go! HemiOrange09 Steve check it out! Could not be happier with this color. Under normal light the green matches the UFOs on the playfield and art blades. It also has large silver flakes in it which really give it a retro feel (important to me since this is an original restored game). Under blacklight it is absolutely amazing! And the playfield greens also light up which I wasn’t aware of! This is Danio Green from Prismatic Powders.
Install took awhile to ensure I didn’t damage the decals when removing the old side rails (my first time). Took the opportunity to do some touch ups of the cab while I was at it.
My buddy is borrowing my STh which Steve also did for me in Sassy Pink (also uv reactive)…when I get it back they will go side by side. I am not a huge blacklight guy but its cool for parties!

I have to say I really like the powder coating jobs you've done, to NOT to include the coin door. To me, it's just too much color. I think the black coin door actually compliments the artwork on the cabinet better.
Nice job on your pins
Kerry

thanks, Kerry! Appreciate the feedback. It’s so subjective…a guy in AFM thread already told me he doesn’t like the job at all and the green is out of place?! LMAO haters!

I think we are very lucky to have Steve doing this awesome work. He did my ironman coindoor years ago and sent it to 2 to Australia as no one here can do them without melting the coindoor frame. Lol

Quoted from atg1469:

I applaud you sir. I too suggest you add pinstadiums. The U/V flashers will really get it cooking!

oooh nice idea! I just got those art blades but now wondering if I should have gone mirror.

#513 1 year ago

Was considering a brushed gold type color for a "golden gun" style to match the Brian Allen artwork.

#527 1 year ago
Quoted from midcoastsurf:

A thinking of a few different options:
- LE is supposedly translucent black with an opacity of 80% over the bare metal (textured effect)
- "Rust bucket" or a rust effect like you mentioned (have you done this on pinball before? curious to see pics)
- One Pinsider did a combo of jet black and disco tangerine (pretty cool effect)
I don't plan on doing the coin door, so I want something that still blends decently with the black coin door

FYI Prismatic Powder offers free swatches (just pay shipping). It’s immensely helpful in selecting a powder and you can order dozens of them under the single shipping charge. For CCr I ordered about 15 varieties of gun gray and various golds. Realized with my basement lighting the dark gray would just appear black so also why I lean gold. They also ship super fast you’ll have swatches in two days.

#529 1 year ago

this one is really cool and the swatch has a nice texture to it, not totally smooth. In my basement lighting though it just looked so dark you couldn’t appreciate the color

Got a set of Steve's armor in on Friday and swapped it onto my Bond today. Late in the day for pics so not the best light but it all came out great. Super color and while I debated about t-molding, I ended up going light blue and I think it's a winner. Also gotta love those chrome leg bolts, such a nice finishing touch!
Thanks for your help with everything, HemiOrange09 ![quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Quoted from midcoastsurf:

I've been in the hobby since the mid 90's, but this is the first time I've had one of my games powdercoated. Steve was great to work with, patiently answered all my newbie questions, showed progress throughout the process, and sent back an incredible product in a timely manner. I will absolutely use Steve again for powdercoating. Pictures do not do his work justice.
Game: CCr SE
Powder: Prismatic Dark Grey Sparkle
Parts: Legs, lockdown bar, siderails, shooter housing, shooter knob, hinges, and speaker surrounds
Here are a few before and after pictures. I still need to paint or find black siderail screws.
