EDIT 3/21/20.... I ran some more numbers and I'll offer my powder coating services talked about below for $250.00.

Some customers have been asking if I would be willing to powder coat their pinball armor from their machine at a reduced price from the "new pinball armor" that I sell on my website. Well I decided to add an option to my website allowing you to ship me your pinball armor and I will have it stripped to the bare metal and powder coat it a new color of your choice or a color that I have done on my Pinball Refinery machines for was $295.00, NOW only $250.00 plus shipping to you. This way you can save some money from purchasing an entirely new set of pinball armor from me and still get a new look on your machine for a great price. So send me your armor and I will take care of the rest for you.

Here is a link to order this from my website: https://mipinballrefinery.com/store-to-order-upgrades#!/Powder-Coating-your-armor/p/181413438/category=46918592

I have attached my powder coating thread to this one so you can see some samples of the powder coating colors I have done for certain titles.

Steve -

Based on my past purchases from you, I'm assuming that the $295 charge covers side armor, hinges, lockdown bar, and legs and that anything else such as speaker panels, ramps, wireforms, shooter housing, or coin doors are additional.

Is this correct?

#3 4 years ago

Normally, yes you are correct and they were additional.... But I have decided up my powder coating services for everyone. I will powder coat everything you ship to me as long as it is from 1 machine and it is all the same color for this price of $295.00 plus return shipping to you. So if you want the coin door done, I will do that for you at this package price, but you have to take it all apart and ship me just the frame, 4 carriage bolts and the door to powder coat. This will minimize my labor of disassembling and reassembling it for you, which saves you money. If you are not able to do this with the coin door, I can still do it for you, but I will ask that you for some compensation for my labor. Ramps, shooter rod housing and return wire forms are also part of this great package deal, as long they are from the same machine and same color.

If you would like one to two items done, you will have reach out to me, so we can discuss this.

If you want to upgraded side rails, hinges, apron, or custom coin door bezels, yes I can still do this, but there will be additional cost for these parts.

Thanks for asking,

Steve

Thanks Tim, I appreciate the kind words.... I replied to your PM a new idea on a color for your JJP POTC. I think it would be a AWESOME look.

I did a Jurassic Park Premium a few months ago for a customer in a different color. He wanted something to match the sunset colors in his machine. So we agreed on this color with gold flake added to it.

Sounds like a great deal. I’m thinking my Ghostbusters could use that blue you’ve done previously from pics on the website. What’s the turnaround time for this?

Excellent. I have that color in stock and ready to go.

Once I receive your armor. I take it to a local place to have the existing powdercoating baked and media blasted off, then I'll powder coat it. So long story short within a week I will be done with it and shipping back to you.

A customer requested a bold color for his Jurassic Park Premium, not a problem. This one would also make a great color for the new Avengers machine coming out. I think it would be very close to Thanos' color.

I have a customer that send me a Atomic side rail from his TSPP machine to redo it, because the powder coating was chipping off from it, that was done by someone else.

Looking at the Simpsons side rail... Do you know why the powder coating chipped off?... Who ever powder coated it, cut corners and did not strip and removed the wrinkle black from it. This is NOT the way powder coating works. They just trying to make a easy buck and get it done as fast as possible. With this being said I am sure the rest of his Simpson machine is done the same way and sooner or later it will do the same thing. I attached a few pictures of the rail to show you.

I'm having everything stripped and starting from raw metal like it needs to be done. So please ask the company or person that is doing your powdercoating if they are stripping it back to the raw metal and starting fresh or more then likely this will happen to you armor on your machine.

Just saying,

What’s your turnaround time? I have a monster bash remake I want to do legs, lockdown bar, and side rails purple. Your work is freaking outstanding. What oven do you use to bake the powder coating? Pic of you got it. Like to see your set up.

#43 3 years ago

In your other thread you mention coming up with something for Star Wars Comic Premium. I don't have one yet, but it's on my short-list to buy. Do you have pictures of it?

The 2 I have that I'm looking into now are Stranger Things Premium and Cirqus Voltaire. I saw a partial picture of ST, but nothing on CV. Do you have pictures of options for both of these?

Haven’t seen any powdercoated Star Wars Comics yet. Would love to see what people went with.

I have everyone's armor media blasted at a local company and then I powder coat the armor at my place. It usually takes about a week to 10 days once I receive everything. A lot depends on the media blasters turn around. I have a stand alone oven that holds about 1 set of armor, nothing huge or fancy, but recovers quickly after I get everything inside it.

I would be happy to powder coat your MBr armor for you, just let me know when you are ready and send me a PM to discuss the details.

Thanks,

I have a new (ok 3 plays) Stranger Things Premium here that is customized with some nice upgrades, powder coating, interior artwork, and some other mods... This was a machine that was going to be at TPF 2020 but that was canceled. So this machine has been at my shop since February.

I'll post some pictures of a Star Wars comic book premium. I did the powdercoating the same as BM66 SLE, LE. It's a perfect fit for this machine.
