I will make this statement: If there really are enough folks interested in pinball to pay the prices that these manufacturers are charging for games, and if there is a sustainable business model for operators to buy and route such expensive games, then I am happy for the folks that are involved. Sadly, I am not in that market. The most I have ever paid for a game was the one NIB I bought which was TSPP which I paid $3400 delivered. I own a nice collection of some of the desirable WMS/Bally games from the 90's, most of which I bought at coin-op auctions during the late 90's and early 2000's. Many for less than $1000, back then $2200 was a huge splurge for the occasional A Lister that would show up. Those auctions were a lot of fun until everyone discovered them and the prices shot to retail...
Even though I am priced out of the current NIB market (along with most everyone that I know in the hobby), again, if there is a market at these price points then more power to the folks making/buying them. I really wanted a Star Trek and I think BM66 looks fabulous but I just can't justify dropping that much coin.
