I'm about 25 miles inland so shouldn't be too awful. Need to get my generator running tomorrow otherwise I think I'm good. Might need to buy some more beer.

    Quoted from stepside:

Good luck fellow coastal pinheads! We're still waiting to see what develops here in Savannah.

If you need gas or propane, get it now. Most of our local stations are out.

Wonder if this one is gonna loop and come back around? It's happened before.....

    Quoted from OLDPINGUY:

Costco was madness all day! Lines around the block for gas, and lines to the back of the store!

Costco is a madhouse on a normal day. You are a brave soul to go there for a hurricane shopping frenzy.

    Quoted from Litedpinballmods:

We are 5 miles from the coast, near Jacksonville, so we are a bit concerned. Hoping it goes more East in the next 24 hours.

With TS Nicole sitting out there I don't think it's gonna happen. I wouldn't ride it out just 5 miles from the coast.

Think this is gonna be like David back in 79 only much more powerful. I remember that night vividly and that was just a cat 1. Granted I was only 9.

Just got back from checking on the in-laws. That should be my last outing for the next couple days. Just gonna cross my fingers the wind speed projections don't increase for my area and we should be good.

I should have snapped a couple pics along the way. Passed a business that taped their huge windows with painter's tape. Don't think that's gonna work too well. Hopefully it won't matter.

    Quoted from pinmaniac:

Lost it for three days a few years ago in a tropical storm.

After suffering through prolonged power outages in the 2004 hurricane season, I will always have a generator and a window AC. It makes such a difference in your comfort level. I should just pony up for a whole house unit, but I'm a cheap bastard. This will be the first time I've needed the generator in 10 years and I will be happy as a clam if I end up not needing it.

    Anybody want to borrow this?

Can I see an end of stroke pic first? Her stroke, not yours.

    Quoted from OLDPINGUY:

Heres the animals getting ready........The Rescue Squad......

Kinda funny, in both pics the one on the right is exceptional, just in very different ways

    Quoted from Electrocute:

The one on the left is my type.

    That one looks nice too.

    Quoted from DCFAN:

You mean the one that looks to have a black eye?

I wasn't really looking at her eyes, but yeah sure. Tight body and tits don't look like a tangerine shoved under the skin.

So that black eye kills it for you huh? Ha!

After 3 hours of nothing just got my first blast of wind and rain.

    #93 7 years ago

I've got a friend riding it out in Port Orange a couple miles from the coast. He assured me he is not staying at the beach house right on the coast. Ha! Told him to give me a yell if he needs to move a little further inland. I hope these Weather Channel wind speed predictions aren't BS. They show Daytona not looking much worse than Deland which doesn't seem right?

    Quoted from DCFAN:

No, was just worried she may have an abusive partner.

Well I certainly hope not. I suspect she was fighting with one of the other 3 over some Pinside dude....

    Quoted from Electrocute:

What's everyone's backup power source? I'm using golf cart batteries, inverters and a generator to charge the batteries.

Troy-bilt generator. I admire your use of golf cart batteries. In case of apocalypse, you have a lifetime supply over there in the Villages.

Tore into my survival provisions already. Chunky Sirloin Burger with crackers is some good stuff.

    #119 7 years ago

Light rain and wind here. Must be taking a favorable track. Yay!

    #121 7 years ago

Amazingly enough still have power. Appears a good bit weaker for us now with worst of it within next few hours.

    #135 7 years ago

Here's another sexy lady at Daytona Beach this morning.....

    #136 7 years ago
    Quoted from Chitownpinball:

All these posts and no damage porn? Shame.

I've got one small branch down. A neighbor lost a fence panel. Pretty anticlimactic for us which is good. It's still windy and power occasionally blips, but considering how close that eye was, feeling pretty fortunate. Should be done with the worst of it. Just a few more hours of rain and wind.

Anyone else having lots of fun clearing tree debris? Had a few trees damaged and it's the perfect time to just cut them down since the waste pickup crews are much more forgiving right now. My little $69 Harbor Freight pole saw is kicking butt.

    #209 7 years ago
    Quoted from Wolfmarsh:

Yeah, we did some extra cleanup and just threw it on the pile. They are still doing pickups so I've been thinking about cutting down two more small trees that I don't like.

I have yet to see my first pickup. Regardless, my pile is much smaller than some others. Hoping I can take down a couple big live oaks before it is all done. Got a 16" chain saw just for that....

    Quoted from Tweety:

And let the taxpayers pay to remove your trash. Classy guy

I've been paying a yard waste disposal fee every month for years whether I use it or not. The trees were going down regardless. They are just going to pick them up a little faster now.

Attacking me on this forum as a result of a political discussion on another forum. Classy on your part for sure.

    Quoted from Tweety:

Hardly an attack, just an observation

And an inaccurate observation. I see your buddy has joined in. I have my own stalkers now. This is what happens when you try to have dialogue with people who believe National Enquirer headlines. When you refute those headlines with facts, this is what they do.

Oh you sad little men. I'll be ready and waiting back at The Village where we can continue the discussion if any of you are up to it. So far that has not been the case.

    #217 7 years ago
    Quoted from pinbum:

Not on the Village! So we will have to deal with it here.

Sure you aren't. Well better open an account because it is against the terms here. Let me bring it down to your level. I double-dog dare you.....

    #222 7 years ago
    Quoted from Zitt:

mcluvin, while I don't agree with your decision to cut down the tree ... It's your right as long as there is no ordinance against it.

Guys, the trees are old and very close to the house. After riding through town and seeing some of these old trees on top of houses after what were maybe 60 to 70 mph winds tops, I'm being diligent. It very easily could have been worse. If people can't understand that, I really don't care, but there you have it...
