Is that piece of metal attached to the front slingshot plastic post on the left slingshot a factory part to keep the ball from dropping on the plastic?

Isn't on mine
Quoted from Kixslash:Is that piece of metal attached to the front slingshot plastic post on the left slingshot a factory part to keep the ball from dropping on the plastic?
I've never seen that before. Doubt it's factory.
I do get issues with the ball wanting to get onto that plastic
I can't get the ball wire any further over left due to the Hurricane loop.
Any Hurricane owners confirm something for me please?
When Solenoids fire around the table, quite often my Hurricane wheel takes a small jump.
Is it the same on all Hurricanes?
Thx in advance (trying to troubleshoot a stubborn fault and wonder if this is connected!)

For those who have purchased any of my coasters in the past (Comet, Cyclone, Hurricane) could you please post pics of them installed? I've had a few people ask where they go, but since I don't own any of the coaster pins its just a guess on my part.
Quoted from punkin:Can't say i've ever noticed it.
Thanks bud. Suspect something a little wonky with mine then..
All ... thanks to one of the pinsiders we got the Hurricane Ferris wheel decals as well as the covers, etc made and available for Hurricane. So we now have the full set of Hurricane Ferris Wheels, Drive Washers (original WMS tool), as well as Covers and Decals available.

It appears to have black plastic extensions that mount it to the pop bumpers. How long are they, what diameter and is it just self threaded screws that secure the plastic to the bumper body?
Thanks a lot.
Hoping the USPS gets my boards back soon so I can get it running 100 percent again..

Hey, did you get this sorted? I can take some pictures and measurements for you today if not.
looking for the lower plastic piece in the picture (longer one just above the target and wraps around the bumper). or a quality scan of the piece if anyone happens to have one out. Thanks you. Only place we can find on is over seas and the freight was near a 1000. lol
Thank you for any helpful options

You need 3 black spacers. 2 are the same at 15mm (have screws through them into bumpers) and one is longer at 30mm (sits on right side, just for support.) https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/03-8022-3
You can get these on lots of places.
The screw is an inch and a half. Number 6, pan head.
You will need two, they do down and into the bumper.

I got my replacement from Pinball Center in Germany.
I have a scan, it's also worth getting some plastic protectors cut for that particular piece, as it seems to get snapped by the Dunk the Dummy target, gets alot of direct hits.
Attached the PDF, also have a PNG if thats better for you.
If you would like the STL or DXF drawing files for the plastic, message me. Then you can send them to a local laser company, and they can cut 3mm acrylic neon for you. You can then put it under the plastic, to stop it from snapping again if you need it. You can also use the drawings to get plastic cut on a laser and then wet transfer the graphics on.

Many thanks guys. gonna add these parts to my next Marcos order.
I found my missing plastic and the dunk the dummy under it(chipped at edge, like many) at Pinball Center in Germany. They seem to be the only place that has them and the Juggler plastic. Just got an email that Pinball Center just got the upper plastic back in stock. Hope the shipping isn't too outrageous. Wonder why Planetary Pinball doesn't have them?
Yes. Those are the ones, I linked to them above I think?
They seem to be out everywhere, I'm waiting on some too for my return guides.
Hello all.
I posted a separate topic but I'll ask in this thread as well:
Simply a question of curiosity. I'm currently working on two Williams Hurricane machines simultaneously. Upon taking the first one apart, I was surprised that the pop bumpers had no lamp sockets in them. The other one does and they flash throughout the game. I assumed the first one had blown lamps.
It appears there never was pop lighting in this machine. No staple holes. Were some Hurricanes like CFTBL? Lighting omitted to save coasts??
Quoted from GLSP3022:Lighting omitted to save coasts??

Yup, was just discussed a little while ago in this thread. Some people have added lights. Luckily mine came with them.
Are you combining all the best parts into 1 machine?
Yup that was me.
Some had and some didn't have pop lamps.
I installed them based on the info on https://www.flippers.be/hurricane_poplamps.html
Came out lovely as they are already in the matrix, just not used..
Quoted from jaytrem:Yup, was just discussed a little while ago in this thread. Some people have added lights. Luckily mine came with them.

Nope, one for myself, one for a friend. They'll both be cleaned up and playable. Thanks for the info.

You'll both love the game! I don't know if you've played it before, I hadn't when I came across mine in a barn find with a buddy, knowing nothing of the game.
I've grown to utterly love it. Some great shots, not too complex, hard enough but smooth and flowing.
I've been playing BoP alot lately as I am restoring one, by comparison BoP is clanky, quicker, metallic, less soft rubber. I love em both and I guess they made BoP to be exactly like that, seeing as it's a robot theme! I always enjoy coming back to Hurricane for those long, sweeping, soft feel shots.
35M on ball one with 2 extra balls in the bag tonight. Slam tilt. Game over. Noooo! I'm am idiot..

Cool, welcome to the club! I've been surprised how popular the game has been with non-pinball people. It's my father-in-laws favorite.
Hi All
What pitch do you have your games set up to? I had mine at 7.0 6.5 and now 6.0 and its still hard hitting the right ramp and the left
ferris wheel entrance. I also aligned the flipper bats with the set up hole in the playfield.
Mine is right at 6.5. No problem hitting anything, the ball flies around the right ramp. Sounds like your flippers must be weak.
Hey fellow Hurricane owners.
I am looking for the Comet Ramp Cover.
31-1645-SP... I actually found a brand new one on a France Pinball site, I ordered it but after a month they just refunded my mony and wouldn't respond to my emails asking why. I chalked it up to a language thing but I was seriously bummed.
If anyone knows where I can get one of these simple roundish clear covers, please let me know.
Attached is one of the only photos I can find on the whole internet of what I need.

Thanks! I'm a pinball enthusiast but also a theme park, roller coaster nut. This is perfect. I've never played one other than virtual which isn't a great representation. I love the simplicity and brutality! I like having it set where each player has to collect the clown and build Palace on their own.
Also its cool that these two were part of the PAPA collection. They were well cared for.

Thanks Jaytrem
That's one step I forgot to do, I'll check the coil numbers and the EOS switch tonight. Mine does hit the ramp pretty strong, but its at the very end of the
flipper bat (almost a drain) when you hit it.
Another note, your sounds do they sound like they're coming out of a old transistor radio?

Freeplay40 makes those. Typically comes with the Comet ramp when you buy that from him. But there's a good chance he can sell you a stand alone.

Nope, the machine sounds pretty good. Might be good to start a topic asking about WPC-89 sound issue. That way you'll get more than Hurricane people trying to help.

I played one or both of these games at PAPA/Pinburgh/Replay. When I did I was not found of the game play and mine was waiting for me to repair/shop
it out. I finished it last year and got to say I really like it a lot now, It totally surprised me at how much fun this game has become. mine is definitely not
going anywhere soon.

Will do, I'll try a better speaker and check the grounds first. Thanks for the quick reply!
Becoming annoyed with the Hurricane ramp exit down by the left sling.
Ball comes so quick that it always wants to try and pop out over the sling.
If I run it down manually, just off the wire, it's fine. So it's the faster speed when it does the whole run that seems to want to make it bang I to the sling.
Spent 30 mins trying to fix it. No joy. Needs more investigation!

I saw an operator friend of mine fix a similar problem on a JJP Dialed In... The ball would come down the wire form so fast it would hit the end and fall into the outlane.
He cut a plastic post shield length-wise and slipped it over an inconspicuous area on the wire form like a speed bump. it is a hack for sure, but this will surely slow down the ball in the mean time until you figure out if one of your posts is in the wrong spot.
Also for a permanent fix, try adding washers to the top of the post on the right side of the plastic go-around ramp (near the slingshot) UNDER the plastic tab to raise it up... each washer is a mm thick so 3 or 4 then add the screw to hold down the ramp and just that should slow the ball just a wee bit. *similarly this can be done at the bottom of the post but may require a little more disassembly.
Finally, quick and dirty... raise the front of your cabinet a few cranks.

Hittin up Freeplay40! thanks!
Hurricane brothers and sisters....Can I ask a favour please?
I am going through the power board on my machine next.. (I havent given it proper once over and seeing as I found this thing in a barn covered in pine needles, I think I better have a look behind the board!!
I notice on J118, I have not 1 but 2 splitters! Does anyone else have multiple splits on J118? Curious if this is a fix on mine for something...
Thx in advance!

My hurricane wheel jumps a bit when the Juggler upkicker fires the ball to the bumper side. That's the only time it does.
Thx man.. I have 3 splitters on J118 one of which goes to the motor in backbox.. I'm wondering if that's it..

Got the Hurricane lid from Freeplay40. It is fantastic, looks perfect, fits perfect and I had NO idea how much it changes my game. Prior it having this silly piece I would usually avoid that ramp center because 7-10 times the ball would launch, hit the glass and then bounce around back onto the playfield. Now, the lid keeps the ball in the ramp and wow I can sure rack up the points!
Anyway, Thank you for pointing me to Freeplay40!
Looks good buddy.
Can I ask Hurricane users, when you get extra ball lit, does it change its position between lanes, when the ball hits the slings?
Quoted from Biglouie:Looks good buddy.

Yes, it does on mine, pop-bumpers too - you can also reposition it with the flippers so if you hit a ramp you can point it to the in-lane to get the extra ball.

Thanks for confirming. I just thought it was the flippers..
I only just discovered that is what changing lane means on the apron!
