Quoted from TheFamilyArcade:Well. If that's true than this title has gone up nearly $1k in the last 12-18 months for HUO. It has been especially popular of late, with all the FS listings in the $4s. Impressive considering most titles are down in the last 12 months.
I want one myself, but I still look at this as a high $3s title. HUO. Which means I won't be owning one soon.
Titles don't "go up" (or down) as you put it. There are always people willing to pay x amount for any and every single thing that exists. P.T. Barnum knew it all too well. These days, a combination of twitter, CNN, and Facebook seem to all be modern man's answer to the circus of yesteryear.
People can comment and lament about pinball all they want. Doesn't change a damn thing. Newbies are gonna overpay for games that suck and veteran pinball hobbyists continue to realize that most good pins in "like new condition" made after 2002 will at least hold their value at a level equal to or slightly over current NIB Stern Pro machines. SM, TSPP, LOTR, ect.
I've seen very nice HUO LOTR, TSPP, FG, all sell for less than 3K. I have also seen them all sell for 8K. Generally speaking, people that want to buy into pinball, have no idea what the hell they are doing when they first start out, myself included.
You may be surprised to know that there is little difference between 4K and 8K to a guy that just wants to play pinball and can afford whatever he wants. You think that guy cares he paid 10K more than he should have for his Carrera from the Porche dealership? I doubt it. Trading yachts and cars and such, pinball is more similar than you know to a lot of the general buyers that have no idea where to buy a pinball machine, and who to trust.
