They still refused to repair the damage, you're in for the following:
They will tell you they need to investigate the claim
They won't return your inquiries hoping you will go away
When you begin calling them you will eventually get ignored and be forced to leave messages which won't be returned.

This is not one IMO and without before pics you can't prove your claim. Not saying this old lady you mention is a liar but perhaps she just didnt notice or care about the back artless corner of an old pinball machine.
