Quoted from spfxted:Wow! I wonder what the reserve is?
well it's apparently not $4200,
Hm, with the pricing on these lately, wouldn't be surprised to see someone snap the BIN at $5,000 and call it good!
Quoted from JoinTheCirqus:Hm, with the pricing on these lately, wouldn't be surprised to see someone snap the BIN at $5,000 and call it good!
if someone serious about buying it they should!
I personally think there is $500 in it without doing anything to the game at all. Not that I'm endorsing flipping. Just stating the facts.

Agreed!
Very surprised no one local has BIN on this yet. Especially, considering how often they come up and the demand right now.
I think people may be put off by the wording in the ad. A handful of semi-blurry pictures, horrible spelling, three lines of description does not necessarily inspire a lot of people to drop $5k.
yep, the seller ended the auction. With fees and a paypal payment the seller would have net $4600, someone could have offered that in cash
Quoted from herbertbsharp:someone could have offered that in cash
Someone probably still can.
Quoted from gweempose:That's a steal at $5,000. Can't believe a local flipper hasn't grabbed it yet.
Captain Neo says that IM sells here on Pinside for $4500.00!
Quoted from fattrain:20k by next x-mas
Why wait until next Christmas when you could have mine for 20K today!!!
Quoted from RobT:Captain Neo says that IM sells here on Pinside for $4500.00!
I know of FOUR people who got one here on Pinside within the last four months for $4500 or less!
I also know that they don't want to post about it because they are concerned by the reverse price police all over this site for certain titles.
I didn't get to see the auction, I'm at a place I can't look at eBay, but if it didn't have any mods on it, I don't know why it would be a $5k game. And I'm not someone "looking to buy" either.

What do you mean by "got one here on Pinside"?
Are you talking about members who got one for that price, or are you talking about Pinsider's who posted IMs for sale here that wound up selling for $4500.00 or less?

This is an un-winnable argument. I made the same case a couple months ago and got publicly ridiculed and beaten to a pulp. It was fun!
Quoted from MrWizzo:I know someone who paid $4K a few months ago for a HUO one
Dan
I do too, you sly fox.
Quoted from MrWizzo:I know someone who paid $4K a few months ago for a HUO one,
I know someone that could eat fava beans through their nose...
I know someone that is driving around on an expired license...
I know someone that can juggle pretty well with their eyes closed...
and none of this has anything to do with the price of IM in today's market either...

I'm certainly not going to do that to anyone who points me to an IM for sale for $4500.00 or less! I've owned one and am considering adding it back to the collection. You, Captain Neo, and Goatdan all say that you can get them for $4500.00 or less, so I'm certainly willing to see if that's the case. I'm assuming we are talking about HUO, correct?
I just know that I haven't seen them sell for this myself in the last couple of months.
I know someone who paid $4K a few months ago for a HUO one, I would say a nice one is now easily 5-5.7K.
Dan
Hi Dan
I just found those pictures and wanted to share how I got that IM and what delayed me a few hours to your house and Dave's, but in the end everyting worked out fine. I was scared going up that mountain covered snowy road and then saw all the steps I was freaking out wondering how me and that nice older man was going to do this. Here the first set of pics of how it worked out.

Did you read the whole post or just enough to take issue?
Never said that purchase had any bearing on today's pricing and even clarified that by mentioning the range I thought they went for now.
So what was your point?

I hope you do find one in that range, but it would be out of the ordinary as my find was.

You never told me you had to fend off wild animals as well!
Dan
I helped Dan get that IM and it was very nice with little plays. It just happened to be on top of a mountain and at top of a mansion house. It was so high up the snow had no melted yet and the box liftgate truck slides so easy. Again I knew Dan wanted the machine and I was going to Baltimore and if I could get this pin it would pay half my trip in gas so we made it happen. Road pics next!

No issue here just wanted everyone to know some of my worthless information as well!

Well, okay then. I think?
The weight of the average human brain is about 3 pounds. I think I am losing weight in the weong place!
Dan
I do think this is the fun part, meeting all the different pin collectors and the good karma I did for Dan was rewarded back to me the next day when I ran out of gas just across the Va line. I still had Dan's number and called him and he came and rescued my wife and myself. A good story and one that ended well. I made it back before the ice storm and the sign I wanted made it back safely to my outdoor theatre. Thisi is only part of the story of how Dan got an IM. I have two other great IM stories and one not so good but even that worked out too. It has to be a great pin for me just for these life adventures.

That was the worst part, I feel in the Ice and this big white dog came and I thought oh **** but it only came to lick me, at first they growled and my wife stayed in the car but it was ok, the only scary part was riding on the pallet in the air trying to keep the pin from moving, which it did. I almost needed new pants from holding on! I didnt want to make Tim or you mad at me. We have a group meeting about three times a year near his house but Tim has never came. Wish you could get him to visit, its less than 5 minutes from the end of his property.

Now, I don't think you can, but 6 weeks ago when I was commenting on the preceding 8-10 weeks, it had been happening. Unmodded was in the high fours, then one was had at $4k (mr Wizzo) and then a couple more in the mid to the upper fours. A couple were speculation on my part..as seeing at least one priced at $5,500, then $5,200 not sell and then hearing a pinsider(s) drove a long way to pick it/them up. Some were also bought with no public disclosure of price.
Ill admit now that under $5k, even Unmodded, seems very unlikely right now...the game got really hot, just like Spidey got hot last year and POTC was up and over $5k for awhile and LOTR is getting really hot right now. Can it last? Maybe, people seem to really love the game. But I still think that in a showdown of IM, SM and LoTR, that IM is the third best pin in that trio. I'd still like to have one though. . I'd trade my SM for one. Could have done it earlier this year but probably not now. Does that really mean not ever again? Hard to say.
I felt like the postman getting to you, neither rain nor snow or dark of night. I am not sure of the real postal saying but I was determined and again glad you got it! I had three others at the time but had heard of him as there is not many locals around with his kind of collection. I wonder what will happen with his others? Glad you rescued me on the return trip from the side of the road and amazed I got the fragile neon sign off the wall, in the truck, out of the truck and onto the drive in bldg without getting any of the sign destroyed. A great trip for everyone in the end!
