Hey all,

This has been discussed about in many of the Avenger threads and I thought it deserved its own thread. My left hulk arm would always trap the ball. It would also scrap his hands on the ramp causing his arm to get scuffed up. The solution is simple, there are four screws on the back bracket that hold hulks arms. Loosen the four screws move the bracket (it's made to slide up/down for adjustment), test with a ball to your liking and tighten. Worked really well for me and now no more ball traps. The ball play in this area is much better and more frantic since the space is opened up with his arm raised. I have #22 hulk so later LEs may have this adjusted already.

Some piX to illustrate

Well explained . Does this eliminate the need to adjust the sensor plate under the playfield ?

Does it make it easier to hit the hulk smash target?

nice write up! seems like an easy fix/adjustment to so many complaints thanks!

Does this prevent Hulk from smacking the ball around when activated if his arms are raised higher to clear the ball?

Stern recommends the left arm should be 1/8" off the PF

The sensor plate is a roll switch. You need to slightly bend the switch so that the tiniest movement activates it.

Yes, this helped out immensely the ball clears his arms and it really plays different in that area. It is also much easier to hit the hulk target in the back left. As for the sensor plate I have never had any issues with that, ball never got hung up there only on hulks right arm (left looking @ machine from play position).

This fix took about 5 min and mad a massive difference to the play in the area. Also if you are getting scrapped up hulk hand your hulk needs adjustment so I would suggest looking into doing this.

As for Stern checking everything. For the most part I think they are just getting the games together making sure things work as they should. I do not think they are testing for ball traps and small adjustments that would cause this. So its up to us I guess : ) its a pinball machine it requires tuning and personally I like dialing in my games to play the way I see fit.

Let the group know if this adjustment has helped your machine out, worked for me
