I saw someone posting this on FB, never heard of it before, does anyone have experience with it?

    #2 1 year ago

I'm new to this hobby, so I never heard of it. But I did do a quick technical check on it. Domain is registered by someone in Quebec, Canada through GoDaddy as of 2019-07-17. (so ~2 years old).

So one red flag to me is that in the About Us, it says

Shipmypinball.com LLC is an American company created to help pinball enthusiasts across North America ship and clear customs from one convenient online location.

I tried to look up Shipmypinball.com LLC for business records, but didn't find anything in a quick google search yet. I don't see a physical address to do an LLC registration lookup in a particular state either.

The domain was created July 2019, so it's not very old.

Looks like it's targeted for people trying to transport games between the USA and Canada.

The whole website looks a bit fishy to me. Personally, I wouldn't touch it.

yeah i wasn't a big fan of the site itself, some of the "made up" quote i tried came up with interesting numbers but yeah, not sure what the angle is?

Sometimes scammers go so far as to create an accompanying shipping company website where you can look up the tracking number they give you for the item (or pin) they are supposedly shipping to you. By the time the victim figures out the shipment isn't real, the scammer (and the money) are long gone.

This company is taking a booth at Pintastic New England. You'll be able to meet Dino Gaspari face-to-face and ask him about his services.

Sounds like a service I'd consider if I were ever interested in shipping a machine across the Canada <-> US border.

    Hey Everyone,

I'm just back from pinballexpo and rarely have the time to jump on pinside and will begin to do so more often...I have been shipping pinballs throughout North America for 25 years and get fantastic rates from relationships I have forged with Carriers over the many years.I created shipmypinball.com as a way to not only pass on the discounted rates to the pinball community but to also facilitate cross border shipments by providing customs services..It's easier than you think.
Here is a Youtube overview of the quoting process from begining to end.

It's a pretty good rate if you can pallet your own game.Remember you need to tack on 65$ liftgate fees and 75$ residential pick up fee if asking for home pick up.Customs brokerage fees are under 100$ usd.

I also offer tips and assistance by phone need be.
you can also follow us on instagram & facebook.

Dino helped me out transporting a machine from Canada to Massachusetts. He is a professional and a gentleman. You can't go wrong using his service. See you in Sturbridge.

I just set up shipping a game through them, once the game is delivered and everything goes well I'll chime in but very impressed so far. Website still needs work but they just set up shop and sure they will iron the bugs out with time.

i'll check this out. can't complain about saving money in shipping. especially when they specialize in the thing i'm shipping.
