Quoted from Astropin:Then give 11 million to every household in America
Whoever did that math is silly.
I could give every household in America $13. It's $4.33 that they would get apiece, not $4.33M.

Winning that much money would be like buying gold in some mmorpg, or whaling your way through some other online game. Once you own everything, what else is there to do? I think you would end up being pretty bored after a while, perhaps even depressed.
Probably the only way you would be happy with that that much money is to start donating it, at least you would have a purpose.
Me personally, I'd pay off the balance of anyone who put up a deposit for RZ. Then open my own arcade in the biggest empty spot at the local mall and set everything to free play

Doh! ......you are correct, I just ran the numbers and it's more like $11.00....lol.
Quoted from Astropin:Doh! ......you are correct, I just ran the numbers and it's more like $11.00....lol.
If it was $11m, it would mean that every household would have had to buy like $12m worth of Powerball tickets!
Buy the playboy mansion and stock it full of pins and throw one hell of a party! Of course all pinside members welcome!
I'd buy out all the upcoming Ghostbusters pins from Stern under a special arrangement, and throw them off a rooftop while videotaping it for my Youtube channel.
Quoted from guyincognito:I'd buy out all the upcoming Ghostbusters pins from Stern under a special arrangement, and throw them off a rooftop while videotaping it for my Youtube channel.
I'd buy up the new Movie and do the same!
As far as my pinball hobby; I would start my own pinball company. And, I would hire a dedicated team to produce some unique pinball machines; both licensed and unlicensed games. Start up costs would be huge, but 1.3 billion makes that quite easy. Also I would need a larger house to house my huge pinball collection. I would likely start a barcade; despite never turning a profit. Just so people around here could be exposed to pinball and it would serve as a gathering place for local tournaments.
I won't even get into what I would do outside of pinball. But, it would involve skiing, motorcycles, music, dogs, watches, firearms, cars, my own land and probably some interesting adventures.
Quoted from zippydapinhead:I would buy every pinsider who likes this post before the drawing a NIB stern.
Then I'm sending my entire collection to HEP for his magic touch and going Pin Shopping.
Wondering if this is for real or click bait ...
I'd drop the term, "wish I were closer" out of my repertoire and take some road trips.
I'd sign up for Carl's pinball lessons.
Quoted from goatdan:Stuff is nice and all, but I'd rather have my current group of friends than a bunch of stuff in a gigantic mansion.
Who said anything about a mansion? Giant warehouse!
Quoted from GreenMachine19:I would fund the completion of Magic Girl.
So you would actually give more money to JPop???
Or were you planning to Spend money suing JPop, and continually bring suit for any reason your retained attorney can provide, eventually getting the rights for the pinball via class action, and ultimately buying a pinball co and making the game for all to enjoy?
This might be more satisfying for the hobby
Quoted from jwo825:just putting this out there for some of you adventurous types.

Add another million for sanitization.
Need to throughly scrub all areas the "black light" shows there are.........ehem.....fluids
And also
The aroma of sex and old man smell will need removed from everything

Then guess what. Greed takes over, massive inflation, everyone is poor again.
This doesn't speak very well of the Australian education system there Wamprat...

That is DEFINITELY Jilly's on Queen East in Toronto. I used to pass it every day on the way to work. If you had asked me this morning what are the odds of seeing a pic of that place on Pinside today, I would have said less than the odds of winning powerball. This should be a good mathematical sign for someone in here.
I would fund the completion of Magic Girl because I just want to have one and play it. And would like for everyone who tried to get one be able to have one too.
Quoted from goatdan:I have no interest in winning that much money, I really don't. I quite enjoy the little life that I have right now. I do wish that I had enough money to:
1) Buy a bigger house so I can set up the machines that I have and then have friends over to enjoy them with.
2) Buy a DeLorean.
Part 1 I'm currently working on. Part 2 will be happening sooner than later if I can't get a bigger house to set up my machines in because I don't like feeling like I have a bunch hoarded.
In all seriousness, if I won that much money, I know that it would completely change every friendship I have and how my life works. Stuff is nice and all, but I'd rather have my current group of friends than a bunch of stuff in a gigantic mansion.
3) Build custom pinball oriented hotel/convention center
Quoted from lordloss:3) Build custom pinball oriented hotel/convention center
Ha!
Okay, probably that too! I have been trying to do that too, but not through my own money. Thought I was successful before, turns out not so much :-/
Quoted from ovfdfireman:Or were you planning to Spend money suing JPop, and continually bring suit for any reason your retained attorney can provide, eventually getting the rights for the pinball via class action, and ultimately buying a pinball co and making the game for all to enjoy?
I think it would be more fun to follow the plot of the movie Arthur 2 where every job he starts, the family buys out the business and lays him off.
"Oh hey, some guy bought this Design firm and he's rehiring a whole new staff, we have to let you go John"
"Oh hey, some guy bought this McDonalds and he's rehiring everyone from scratch, we have to let you go John"
It would be a boon for all things old as old beat up classic cars even rust buckets and old totally worst condition pinball machines would be given a new life as I would pay to have them restored to original condition. So the hunt might change, but the thrill would still be there. Just from finding the most old beat up and bringing back to life instead of finding the best possible for the lowest price.
Quoted from goatdan:Whoever did that math is silly.

As long as I am among the first 300 people they hand out the $4.3 million to, I am ok with their math being wrong.
Quoted from chuckwurt:PHISH pinball >> yes it would happen. I already have most of it drawn up and designed with rulesets/ideas written, but with this sort of money I would hire the right people to bring the vision to reality.
Where do I sign?
Yesssss. Make me one as well please. Huge Phan!
Phish pinball will be sick! I am friends with David Welker (rift artwork) and he has already agreed to do the artwork on it!
Now I just need to win the powerball tonight to make it all a reality! Any phish head pinhead gets a phanLE

With an authentic languedoc topper?
Quoted from Whysnow:LOL and a fight bell as a floor button for some modes!
YES! Fightbell to the beat to rack up points
Pinball would be one of the last things on my mind most likely. I've been working on a few jukebox/touchgame projects and I haven't played a pin in over a week. Imagine if I had Powerball winning as a distraction?
After things settled down, debt was taken care of, family members with hands out taken care of, and a bit of traveling, we'd probably settle down and figure out where to put down roots, and buy a nice but not too crazy house.
However not too crazy house would include killer space(s?) but gameroom/bar/theater area filled with arcade, pins, bowlers, racers, etc. Would plan on a nice mix of EMs, 80's, 90's, DMD, and NIB machines. Would probably have a pin or 2 setup at each family members house as well for fun.
Could I create a pin based barcade in the area? Maybe once we settled down and were looking for something to get involved in that wouldn't wipe us out.
It's funny how people get hyped up about winning $300M as if winning $1M wouldn't satisfy most fantasies. $1.5B just tells me that they have yet to match numbers in 19 drawings to any of the 3 billion tickets sold so far. Wouldn't you rather see it spread out as five $1M raffle drawings every day for a year?
I'd buy a nice house in Hawaii and upgrade my house here in Colorado so that both would have huge game rooms. Then I'd stock each game room with at least 20 pins each. I'd get many of the Sterns available now NIB and go with the premium models. No more pros if you had that kind of money.
Would never need to ship another pin, I'd send my servants to inspect and pickup games. They would also bring them inside the hut, level them and set playfield at 6.5 degrees pitch.
Not much. Just provide a railroad steam engine for my living room and a T Rex automaton to keep it company.
LTG : )™
How would winning Powerball change your pinball hobby?
I will let you know in 25 years when I return from my bender in Las Vegas.
I'm Going to build my own amusement park with Black Jack and Pinball! In fact, forget the Black Jack!
As far as pinball is concerned, I'd simply buy the pinball machines on my wishlist: Tales of the Arabian Nights, Theater of Magic, and Breakshot. I'd also add in a Iron Man Vault Edition for a total of 5 machines (I already own one - ST Pro). That'd be enough. I'm sure I'd buy a couple more in the future.. Star Wars
Penthouse suite in Las Vegas with a 100 escorts! I'd even have my pinball machines delivered up there. My own pinball arcade on the top floor!
I would donate a large chunk of money to Boston childrens hospital. Those poor kids, anytime I see pictures it breaks my heart.
As for myself, I'd buy a house in York Beach, Maine, where my parents had one for decades. It's where we lived in the summer and I played pinball all the time at the beach.
I would continue buying machines, and I'd play them. Host parties with pin people, tournaments would be with free NIB games on the line.
I'm not sure my life would be all that different, I just think it would be a lot easier to just do anything I wanted at anytime.
