What is the actual process to making a wireform? i assume some sort of jig is used to weld it all together but how are all the seperate bits of rod bent into perfect shape? Does some sort of automated machine create them?

Likely a CNC wire bending machine. Check out the intro to a show called "How It's Made". They have an animation of one as a part of the intro.

Iv seen simular videos but was not sure if the same process was used for the pinball ones with large arcs etc... those machines seem to just make sharp bends.

I was actually genuinely interested in how they are made start to finish.

Guess i know how coat hangers are made now though...

Wouldn't be surprised if in the future they are 3D printed.
