So I have a new AFM machine and I'm a big time noobie to the
whole world of pinball. I probably should have consulted with
someone first before installing the plastic protectors, but after
a lot of time I figured it out. What I was wondering was
how would you get newer versions? I checked my machine
and it is using game version 1.0 and sound version 1.0.

I have concern because I read somewhere that game version
1.0 has strong bumpers and this could lead to damage down the road.
Also I read that the color dmd require a different game version. Any suggestions
for me? Any direction and help would be appreciated. Thanks.

http://www.pinballroms.com/ John Wart is your man. He posts here. And is your ROM connection.

John is the go-to guy for ROMS. Easy to deal with and ships very quickly. I've purchased from him quite a few times.

I don't see where he explains if it's necessary to upgrade the sound card though. I'll keep looking around for that piece.

So it looks like the only requirement is to have game rom 1.13. I'll purchase that soon. Thanks for the help!

You may want to look at getting the 1.1 sound ROM upgrade. AFM was the first official WPC-95 pin and there were some minor bugs in the 1.0 sound ROM that could cause a 'buzzing' sound.

Also, if you have not done any mods to your AFM (or it didn't have any when you got it), you definitely need to check out Bill's site, http://ufopinball.com. He has the best AFM mods around! I have them on my AFM and the make a huge difference. Things that should have been on the game from the factory.
