Hey Guys,

First, let me say that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE LOTR. Such a fun game and everyone who hops on it has a blast. So much to shoot for, such a great theme and just a blast. Now for the bad part. It shakes my entire apartment. Had a party last night and we were playing late and the neighbors started complaining. So I think I need to shut the shaker down after 11pm. Can this be done using the menu adjustment interface? Or do I need to unplug it? Thanks guys...a few more photos of her lit up at night...

Set the shaker to minimal should help . Also add head phone jack. This way you may not have to disable the shaker. http://www.pinnovators.com/

There's a setting called "Optional Coil" something in the Adjustments...I forget the number offhand. Take a look for that and try it. I'm gonna have my LOTR back in the house later - if you haven't found it yet, I'll get the specific setting number.

Thanks Rare...I'd appreciate it. I'm not going to be back in my arcade for a week. Dog sitting for a friend in Brooklyn all week

Suggest you invite the neighbors up for tea and a few games on the LOTR. You never know where diplomacy of the pinball kind can lead

Does it not say in the manual?

Actually, I was wrong. The "optional coil" is how you test the shaker in the solenoid test...but there's no option to turn it off. Guess you'll have to unplug it when you want it off.

This is the only way I've ever found to disable a LOTR shaker.

Next post from kaneda... "How do I unplug it?"

#15 9 years ago

...small pcb next to the tilt mech...unplug one of the connectors, or remove fuses.

#16 9 years ago

Honestly if you're gonna be doing it constantly I'd just wire a small switch into the shaker connectors, put it inside the coin door where it's easy to reach. Couple bucks, basic soldering, reversible if you ever wanted.

Just saw this this morning on CL $4000.

Shaker must be quite a problem for your neighbors.

Seems like a good deal

I am guessing that not only the shaker but the general noise of the coils is too much through the floors for his neighbors to tolerate.
Also possible Kaneda has been playing with everyone here all along, or a spoof FS post by a pinsider.

Hilarious. Someone must have posted this right after his post, lol.

Omg. Hilarious if it's true or not. Hope the previous owner of the machine was paid for it though.

I'm in at a 10% premium for his APTUO LOTR LE, $4400 and happy neighbors ready and waiting right here!
