I've been having an intermittant issue with my RBION resetting. It's not consistent, but will happen enough to be a problem. From what I have read regarding resets, it all points to the 5v. I checked the manual and it says to check at the following points (see picture). But when I look at the board, I don't see any spots to check. What am I missing and where do I place the leads. Thanks.

Quoted from ChrisHibler:

Red through the back of one of the pins labeled 5V (J16, pins 4-8) on the connector top, left center on the power/driver board

Thanks, that worked perfectly. Reading was 5.04v. FWIW, the pad above C29 gave a reading of 13.2v - so I don't think it's a test point for the 5v.

Since the 5v is within range, I guess I will have to wait until it acts up again to test.

Quoted from coz6:

the 9 pin connector on top of the board needing a rebuild

You may be right. I have already had to repin a couple of the IDCs as they were cracked or weakened by the Fluorescent light. The 9 pin ribbon cable looks like it has had better days as it's so faded it looks like it spent a summer in the sun. I'll order a new one now and in the meantime try to re-seat the chip. Thanks.

Hmm, I was under the impression all ribbon cables were the same. I ended up ordering these from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/uxcell®-20-Pin-Socket-Extension-Ribbon/dp/B00X775XKA

I'll let you know if my assumption is correct. If so, you are welcome to one of them as its a five pack and I only need one.

Yep, looks like you are talking about the Molex 9 pin connector.

In that case, look at https://greatplainselectronics.com/categories.asp?cat=38 I believe they are 0.84s, but I'd get confirmation before ordering. Not knowing exactly what you are needing for your rebuild, but he usually has it.
