Hey there guys,

So what's the difference between the 2007 and 2009 build of the OG Spider-Man? Also, what are some easy ways to tell the two apart?

Thanks!

First thing I'd do is look for a build date sticker on the back of the cabinet. I can't vouch for those years (don't have any Sterns from those years presently), but newer builds have them.

Most obvious is plastic apron instead of metal apron

That’s the easiest one I can remember.

I had one from 2009 or 10 NIB (my first game). It had a plastic apron l, but also had webbed side rails that were pretty neat.

Did they ever fix "you ooze you loose" for the newer run?

Probably the most embarrassing, pinside-level typo to make it out of the Stern factory.

Oof. That’s rough

Nope. I even asked Gary in person to make a revised decal or a cover-up mode decal. He said “no one notices”

Yes, mine also had the limited edition webbed side rails, and the multicolored playfield webs.

he misspoke. he should've said no one cares.

I care…but I’m a looser.
