Alternatively, look at the credit wheel. It'll have two solenoids. Work the solenoids with your fingers to set the wheel to 1 credit. Now disconnect the solenoids, they've probably got a common earth. Disconnect this and label it so it's easy to restore for a future owner.
You now have 1 credit permanently set.
