No way, the onliest way to make (nearly) usable scans of a playfield is a HP4600 scanner.
But even this is not perfect.
perfect is a professionell solution with a CruseScanner in 1 piece and 600 dpi

It depends what you want to do with the result:
For an overlay it might be okay to make a pic and work on it.
For a full playfield print it will not work. You will always have an offset!
You can rebuild the image with Illustrator or any other vector programm. A friend of mine did this for me for a project. The result is stunning but 300+ hours of work and you have to know Illustrator.
Quoted from Ashram56:Thanks all for the information provided. If I don't find a professional in my area I'll go the scanner route
Sidenote: is there any alternative scanner beside this scanjet 4600? For example scanners where the lid can be removed?
Regards
No, only 2 models from HP beginning with Scanjet 46xx have the otion to scan while hanged up to the playfield.
Also forget about that handscanners which you have to roll .... offset.
Check eBay .. Ihave 2 from this scanners, they show up on ebay from time to time
