coming from the bally bingo world, I've seen a lot of those lamp sockets and replacing 80+ of them isn't really feasible.
they are just pounded into the wood. Spikes on the top/bottom (short sides) are part of the socket.
I just pry them out without unsoldering the wires. If you pry out one end first, you're less likely to splinter the wood when prying out the other end.
if there is a staple under the solder, it'll come out with the rest.
when reinstalling, you may need to bend the spikes a little. You want them to go in at an angle so they grab better.
I find those sockets more reliable than the barrel style that inevitably loosen and corrode between the surfaces of the parts.
while the flat socket can get corroded, usually the only problem is the center tab tension is a little weak and you can remove the lamp, hook the tab with a screwdriver and pry it forward so the tip touches the socket frame. When you let go it'll spring back quite a bit. You'll have good tension on the lamp tip again.
