Those "clips" are the back of the light sockets for general illumination for the back glass. They light the "Bally" marque on the back-glass.
Simply de-solder and they can be removed easily.

Pins on each side of the socket.
What you are trying to accomplish is no easy task. Removing the mechanicals from the back box is not for the inexperienced.
Looking at your photo, you have a lot of work cleaning the score reels and such. Why invest so much work on the back box logic board, a part that is not visible and has no relevance to the playability of the game?

I have heard that from a lot of people, but I have never had a bad experience dealing with them. In fact, they are extremely helpful and courteous.
