Is it just a simple matter of removing the 2 screws on each side. Thanks
Good question. I also want to replace the side armor on my Data East Rocky & Bullwinkle.
I removed the two screws but it feels like it's stuck in place. I've been told I also need to remove the flipper buttons and that there will be some double sided tape underneath.
Recommendations i've heard are to use a paint scraper underneath to slowly and gently prize it loose. Care has to be taken otherwise the side armor can be bent.

Yep, you are correct. Double sided tape beneath and as you said once you remove the flipper buttons and screws you'll need to gently prize them off with a paint scraper.
Use a paint scraper like BoP recommends. I have used this numerous times with fast results.
After removing screws, carefully go up from the bottom of the rail, pushing the sharp edge of the scraper through the double sided tape, pull out, move over and keep repeating until the double sided tape has been cut the length of the rail.
Just be careful you do not scrape the cabinet using the paint scraper, it will almost be flat to the cabinet when you are pushing from beneath the rail.
