I'm restoring a 1966 Crosstown. Most of the metal parts on the bottom board and playfield appear to be brass plated and are very tarnished. What is the best way to clean these up and bring back a nice shine?

For anything brass plated, I use Brasso polish. Available at any grocery store in the cleaning products section.
I have two different types of polishing wheels with different types of cutting compound mounted to a double ended electric motor. I have used this set up for different applications works a treat on brass.
Flitz additive is much better agent at polishing than Brasso. Stinks less too. More expensive, but longer lasting. Does not protect against retarnish, but that oxidation will take several years, unless constantly rehandling.
