Can someone tell me how I go about folding down the display on my 1990 Bart Simpson pinball machine? Thanks!

There will be bolts inside the display head screwed in to the body.

Do I access the bolts from inside the unit or do I get to them by removing the display glass?

#4 7 years ago

yeah, remove the backglass.

Thank you!

actually, looking it up, it looks like it has a mech on the back you unlock with a screwdriver. see the 1:20 mark of this video.

it may or may not have bolts inside the head as well.

When folding the backbox ensure you cardboard and foam on the rails at the backbox touch point when transporting, and before tying or attaching a cargo strap.
This will prevent the rails from being bent and scratched.

Additionally, and this is 100% IMPORTANT!!!!
Place a double piece of very heavy cardboard or plywood between the backglass front and the playfield glass with a piece of soft foam.
This locks the backglass into place and prevents shifting.
If the glass slips during transport, you will have a very sad face upon arrival.
Keep the glass IN THE GAME, do not transport separately, or you may have another sad face.

I can see a hole on the back of mine so that is probably what I need to unlock and lower it, thank you!

It's actually a large Allen key, not a screwdriver .. but a screwdriver will work in a pinch.
