I started to polish the ball guide for my 59 Around the World project and found a short crack towards the top. The area is also worn thin there. What are your thoughts on a repair?

    Hey Silver
I would drill a 1/16 inch dia hole at the very end of the crack to relieve stress and help prevent propagation. I would fill in the rest with JB weld. Heavy on the backside and flush on the surface.

Thanks I did the drill and JB Weld thing today. I’ll sand and paint it next week.
